Today i picked up my car from shop, now my car is acting funny lol.
When i try start the car, RPM drops all the way and stalls the engine.
BUT if i press gas before RPM drop then it won't stalls the engine.


Anyone had that issue??
-No ECU reflash yet
-No codes
-No CEL lights
-Tried disconnect battery for +30 minz
-temp 50 degree outside

Check the hoses on your plenum.

Just found this thread, very close issue. But still i don't understand, why there is something to do with MAF/throttle body when installed exhaust system.

A lot of stuff needs to be removed from the engine bay to get access to the headers.

If anything wasn't replaced properly it could do that.

 

Hey J, check your plenum bolts. Mine did the exact same thing when i had some loose plenum bolts.

 

- checked all the hoses
- Plenum bolts
- checked no exhaust leaks
- checked no leaks on plenum or MAF
- cleaned MAF/throttle body

Problem won't go away. lol

 

Then take it back to the shop and let them figure it out.

Try a TB reset.... Cant hurt.

 

Accelerator Pedal Release Position Learning

Operation Procedure
1. Make sure that the accelerator pedal is fully released.
2. Turn ignition switch “ON” and wait at least 2 seconds.
3. Turn ignition switch “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds.
4. Turn ignition switch “ON” and wait at least 2 seconds.
5. Turn ignition switch “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds.


Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning

Operation Procedures
1. Make sure that accelerator pedal is fully released.
2. Turn ignition switch is “ON”.
3. Turn ignition switch is “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds.
Make sure that the throttle valve moves during above 10 seconds by confirming the operating sound.


Idle Air Volume Learning (Throttle Position Learning)
It is better to count the time accurately with a clock.

Operation Procedures
1. Perform “Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning”.
2. Perform “Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning”.
3. Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
4. Turn ignition switch “OFF” and wait at least 10 seconds.
5. Conform that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch “ON” and wait 3 seconds.
6. Repeat the following (steps 7a, 7b) procedures quickly five times within 5 seconds.
7a. Fully depress the accelerator pedal (HARD)
7b. Fully release the accelerator pedal.
8. Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. 20 seconds until the Check Engine Light (CEL) stops blinking and turned ON.
9. Fully release the accelerator pedal within 3 seconds after the CEL is ON.
10. Start engine and let it idle.
11. Wait 20 seconds.
12. Rev up the engine two or three times and make sure the idle speed and ignition timing are within the specifications.

I just tried this ( damm i tried 4~5 times ) But idleing seems fine now, but 50% it could be because i keep turning the engine on/off or 50% it's really working. I gotta give it time. Wish me luck

Oh and my nismo exhaust still uneven, guess causing from other aftermarket parts combo. Also i found out my exhaust nismo tip started crackin little bit...Oh No....

Update, it's been few days after reset ECU ( idle) No problem.

Just read this post and I experience the same problem. I took my car to an exhaust shop and had them install my headers. After they put them on they told me, "make sure that when you start your car, you give it a little gas so that it doesn't shut off." I thought that was a little peculiar, but I left with that knowledge(unfortunately). Well after about a month or so, I was able to turn my car on and it no longer had that problem. It would just idle high when I turned the car on, and drop to normal (I've read from a couple threads that that's normal). I reset my ECU the other day and now am experiencing the same BS as when they installed my headers.
