Well, it won't sound as loud as if you put an aftermarket y-pipe on. But if all you are asking is if you replace the mid-pipe and canister with the Nismo pieces, will it be louder? It most definitely will. But that stock y-pipe will help keep it a little bit quieter than if you went with the full cat-back.

Yup, it will bolt up just fine. Just might be a little quieter, and have a tad less performance.

man i didnt want to make another thread because this falls in close enough. sorry OP

WHAT can i do to make the nismo exhaust sound a little louder? Man it is too damn quiet and i dont want to be driving at 3k+ rpm all the time just to hear something.

i already have berk hfc on with it. I was considering test pipes but i wont be able to pass emissions. and i dont want to get another exhaust. Removing resonator from mid pipe??

oh yeah OP, you can use stock pipe. going from a smaller pipe to a larger pipe shouldnt hurt

OP - you can use your stock gasket between the stock y-pipe and Nismo mid pipe. However, you need a new 3" ring gasket between the mid-pipe and canister. This comes with the Nismo gasket set, which is $75. My friend was able to find a 3" ring gasket from Napa that worked.

Seriously? HFC's with the full Nismo exhaust is loud. You must be looking for something that is stupid loud. Don't hack an awesome sounding exhaust. Just sell it and get something different that will **** everyone off.

^ I defi understand 'scmtkings4''s post. Even mine sound isn't loud enough, well sounds perfect at wot and on highway driving, but under 3 rpm sounds like stock.

yeah it is loud, but after you hit 3k or more. i live in an area where there is always traffic or just lights. So most of the time im cruising around at 2k rpm and its almost inaudible. I can hear more with stock exhaust at 2k. Maybe its different from outside i dont know

you prolly wouldnt know i was there if i was just gliding by at 2k. i was expecting a bit more 'sound' in the lower range

hoonie what do you have? just nismo? test? hfc?

man if you think your set up is quiet

how much difference did you headers make? gains wise i hear its not that great what about sound? Only thing deferring me from headers is the $$$ to hp ratio.

Maybe i should switch out my y pipe too. JIc i guess is my next step
