Default 5/16'' Spacer Question w/iso w/o iso?

Yes, I searched and found some good answers to get to this point. My question for any experienced guy/gals out there is the Iso Thermal addition necessary when putting on a 5/16'' spacer on an 05 non-revup? From MotoDyne they sell the basic 5/16'' and 5/16'' with iso thermal. I live in South Florida so I KNOW copper one isnt needed. Ill probably be ordering tomorrow online FWIW. Thanks in advance guys.

The Iso Thermal is not necessary. If you don't want it, it will cost less and make for a slightly quicker and easier installation.

But if you do choose to use it, it will allow your upper and lower plenum assembly to run a lot cooler. The plenum assembly normally runs burning hot to the touch, but with the Iso thermal installed it will lower plenum temperatures by 30-60 'F and bring it down to a warm to touch temperature. This also lowers the temperature of the air flowing through the plenum.

If you don't feel comfortable with the extra steps to install the Iso Thermal, don't do it. It is important to feel comfortable with your install which in turn will help you avoid making any installation mistakes. And that is more important than anything else.

All of these kits are easy to install, but still, "easy" is a relative term to the person installing it.

I woul recomend the iso kit cuss you live in FL like me and it is to hot hear as is. The iso gasket helps on heat soak but what you really need is the CCV to cut off unwanted "heated" coolant from entering the plenum.

The CCV was mentioned, some say the iso isnt needed but the CCV is. Will I probably LOSE power due to the lack of dissipating the heat? Im confused.

For the Iso Thermal to work you need both the Aramid gasket and the CCV together.
Each blocks a large heat input source. If only one heat input source is blocked, the plenum will still run hot.

So do both or neither.

I hope this hasn't confused any more than it already has.

LOL, wow this gets SO confusing. I was so ready to order the Iso 5/16'' last night but decided to wait for a response or two from here. Ok, what do you guys recommend if it would be nice to save, what $70 to $100 for the CCV and gasket, nice but not critical. Anyone NOT running a both or anyone running both? Problems with or without?

The 5/16" Iso Thermal plenum spacer kit comes with everything you need. You don't need to purchase the parts separately.

During the Christmas sale its $225.25 shipped in the lower 48 states.
