Default Low idle after intake install, PLEASE HELP

Hello all,

The previous owner did not have the stock intake pcv hose so I took it upon myself to buy a very similar hose and hook it up to this intake. Anywho after I started up the car I noticed that the idle was low compared to when I had the injen. When I had the injen the car would start up at around 1500 rpm and drop to 1100-1000 eventually. Now when I start the car it sits at 500! After driving the car around for about a 5 mintues I take it back in and let it sit for about 2 minutes.

Car starts up and idle is so low that it dies. Start it up again and it stays up. It's on in the garage right now. I'm hoping that the ecu just has to adjust to it or something.

Do you guys think it could be the hose? I guess i'll have to go buy the factory one.

Also, for some MORONIC reason my brother (of which has no mechanical experience) decided to jump my car cause he thought it was dead when really the negative terminal was out because of the ecu resetting due to installation of the new intake. A smelled smoke and went outside, battery was smoking. My radio is now dead, lights up but doesn't power on *sigh*.

Do you guys think this battery shortage could be the cause of my low idle?

Any help would be nice.

Are you saying it was charged with the wrong polarity?

If it was charged with a reverse polarity you may have systemic electrical damage...

*puts hand over forehead*

christ...i hope that's not the issue. Everything seems fine with the car except the radio and the idle.

Hopefully Nissan put diodes in the critical electrical areas to prevent any serious damage to the ECU or other critical electronics.

Ask your dealership if they know what would happen in such an event. I'm sure you're not the first person to of had this issue.

I wonder if the MAF could have been damaged with the reverse polarity.

And the radio could be smoked. It sucks if that's the case but lets hope that's all it is.

You should probably take it to the dealership for a diagnostic.

Sounds like a plan. I used a MAF cleaner : \. Worked well with previous car, could've screwed up this one.

Should I have do the throttle body idle reset?

It won't hurt to try.
