Can't really see it from your photo. Is it the clamp that looks sort of like this from above?:

If it is, you just squeeze the two together, thus lengthening the clamp.

Just take a pliers and squeeze the tabs together, widening the clamp. Slide it down the tube a little so you can pull the tube off.

I don't think he sees the tabs...it's probably turned the other way. Squeeze, slide it towards the hose and pull it off.

Did you try unbolting the whole assembly including the intake pipe and the baffle?

I unbolted everything. I didn't separate the air box from the air intake duct because it wouldn't really do anything, but I have loosened the clamps connecting the air intake ducts to the engine itself. So right now, I could remove the whole assembly, but what's keeping me from doing so is this clamp connecting to the hose...

Davidv's looks like a good choice, but I've searched through Home Depot and Lowes and they don't carry that kind of hose clamp pliers.

It's so stupid why Nissan designs things this way... When they could put the two - -'s on top instead of all the way at the bottom...

That's funny that I just found this thread, because I had the same problem today while trying to install a new intake. I used a flat screw driver to "push" it or "rotate" ir around till I was able to reach it with the plyers. It took me 30 minutes to do it. Fking French!

Autozone, Napa, or Pepboys might be a better place to look.

Engineers figure the most efficient way to put things together. Taking it apart is your problem.

if you take the airbox off you'll have access to the air intake tube and can fit your hands in with a set of pliers from right under the tube and squeeze. I installed a new intake today and thats how i did it and it worked fine. When i put the hose back on to the new intake tube, that was a byotch, but a little wd-40 went a long way and i was able to lube it enought to get it back on. hope that helps.

There is a tool for spring clamps, looks like a very tiny vise, has a finger wheel at one end to tighten it, also takes a 1/4" ratchet. I used it on lots of coolant line spring clamps on LSJ motors in Cobalts, they are glued on to the hose from the factory and can't be turned, but if you put the little clamp tool on there and tighten it down, it holds the clamp open so you can mess with it.

Get a pair of channel-locks that will open up... Open them to the widest setting so they will reach both tabs...

Stick a screwdriver in the visible slot and wiggle it or twist it to get things where you can get to them...
