Default Intake and Spacer...

I've had my Z for a little over a year(2003 Touring 6mt). I just installed a 5/16 Motordyne Spacer which I would highly recommend! Is the stock airbox flow enough air to satisfy the spacer? I was concerned about not getting the most out of the spacer, so i decided to look into getting an intake, Primarily a Pop Charger(Best bang for the buck). Now I know this has been discussed over and over again. Please dont flame. But was there ever a deffinitive answer as to what was going on with them and the stalling issue? Is there a fix that anyone came up with? Any help would be much appriciated!!!!

i ran a pop charger in my 04,03 and then in my 08 with no problems. i think the problem is over oiling and the mafs getting oily.

I have had mine on my 05 since christmas day with 0 problems. The change in engine pitch is very nice too.

I would recomend staying with the stock air box and a dropin. It flows more than enough. Performance factory ran dynos on several intakes a few years ago. All showed losses compared to the stock air box. If you're worried about heat soak (which it doesn't seem you are), just wrap the stock intake with a heat shield. Summit racing has all types.

Thanks for the responses...I wanted to change the box out and I read about how the pc'er made the motor sound and for 100 you cant go wrong. But stalling is a huge concern...

You're fine, but as others have said, you can do a drop in pop charger for better intake flow. The stock setup is not going to deprive or hurt anything though...

A similar question was raised in this thread.

My preference is the stock box with a stock paper filter that is changed out frequently.
