Default Upgrading exhaust system & question on a part

Don't know if this question is in the right section, but I'm thinking it might be since it's related to the exhaust. I was under the car and was removing the entire OEM system when I came across the highlighted section. What is it and can I leave it off? Does it even come off? Thanks in advance.

Leave on. It strengthens the body. By the way. Nice photo

That's not my car. I had to fish for one.

So can it come off and then go back on, or is it one of those parts that's permanently on?

you don't even need to take it off it's more work than it's worth. Just carefully slide out after you unbolt that section of the exhaust.

That's the M-brace. A structural member of the undercarriage.

It's pretty easy to remove and reinstall. Jusat remove the two plastic panels covering the back end of it, and then unbolt it from the frame. You definitely want it back on; it's a frame stiffener and improves handling response.

This dude just proved how much more work it is than sliding out.
