No baffles on HR intakes
The shudder i am talking about occurred when starting from a stop under normal driving conditions. It seems like the low end torque just isnt there. I think tho that this is just the nature of our Z's though. I have logged som time behind the wheel of an 07 mustang GT also and you can literally chirp the tires withiout using the gas pedal when coming off the line.
I took a couple pics to help out people with questions. Will post in the mornin. But my concesus is this is a complete waste of time, cost me 6 bucks so whatever. I took picks of part numbers from home depot and everything.
Here are my pics form my Sidekick Last night:
The first pic is with the engine covers and strut bar off. I'm a dumb *** and didnt realize the cover was 2 pieces.
2nd and 3rd pic are the baffles. The parts you are deleting, drivers first passanger 2nd.
The 4th pic is the 4 inch chrome pipe i bought from home depot for like 5 bucks. If you have nismo or similair short intakes get a 3 inch. I'm going to have to cut some off here at work because its putting stress on the breather grommet from the valve cover.
Finally the last pic is a white stopper cap that has reverse barbs to perfectly hold it in the passanger side grommet. Fits like nissan made it. fitty cent.
Maybe this does something on the stock intakes, but on the Nismos I feel( or hear ) absolutely nothing different. O well total cost was like 6.50 with tax.
If I missed something ask questions.

You are getting increased air flow with the Nismo intakes, so of course you wouldn't feel or hear anything with deleting the baffles, people are misinterpreting the whole point or the outcome of this small mod. And yes, this is meant for stock systems, not to say that it doesnt help in aftermarket systems, but because you have an aftermarket system, you are already getting the sound, increased air flow and a small hp gain, so doing this wont make it sound louder, feel quicker, or anything. You gain a little less air flow disturbance with this mod in a stock system and a "different" sound, not "louder"!!!!! Sorry just had to vent.
is the sound different while cruising or just wot? cuz honestly the nismo intakes sound stock unless i punch it. It was a nice day yesterday and spending it toying with the Z was fun so whatever. I'm not upset just trying to give an opinion.
