Default No baffles on HR intakes

Hey, have any of you guys remove the baffles off the stock intakes? Well I just did it today and I like it. More noise now and felt a slight increase while driving. I wont be able to dyno since I dont have one close by, but if anyone has dynoed with this setup, did anyone make power? I have stock filters. On the driver side, I plug it up and on the passgener side, I added a pipe to connect the hoses. Ill post up pics maybe tomorrow. let me know about this setup.

Thanks guys,
Mike

Oh, so they are resonator boxes.

Yes, you will hear the intake growl more, but there will be no actual power gain as you are in no way increasing airflow. Make sure you do seal them up well though, otherwise you will develop an air leak post-MAF and after the air filter. Not good.

Thanks, thats what I wanted to know, but it does sound like there is a aftermarket intake under the hood.

I didnt think anyone was interested in this thread, but some of you want to see pics, so I will post pics then. Its a easy mod and the good thing about it, is that you can't see any of it. It looks stock.

Default PICS

Alright guys, here we go

This is the drivers side
[/IMG]

The passenger side which I added a 3/8 galvanized pipe

These are the baffles/left is passenger/right is driver

These intakes do come alive when removing these two items. So if sound is what you guys want(which most do) then try this and tell me what you guys think

Yeah I've heard about these for S2K's and the sound difference was very noticeable. Op are you going to do a DIY write-up anytime soon? The community will appreciate you for it

I don't think it'll work on mine since I've got the Injen Dual CAI.

Not really, by seeing the pics, people should get the idea. The hardest part was taking off the strut bar. Just make sure when installing the strut bar back, you lift the front end to take off the weight so it can bolt on right.

The pipe, you can get it at any hardware store. I used a 3/8 x 4" pipe. If they sell a 5" long, then use that instead.

Goodluck, and let me know what you guys think if you do it
