I was at a light today and noticed one of the nicest fd RX7 ive seen in our town. Guages, big pipe out the rear and sweet wheels. He asked what Ive done to my car and tell him. I ask what has he done to his and he snickered "its fast, race ready ported 67mm turbo" (pretty much in those words.) I dont think he was trying to be a jerk but lets just say I surprised the crap out of him. I ask if he wants to go from a slow roll on green and he say sure. Light goes green and from a slow 1st gear we rip it. 1st and 2nd nothing but sideways spinnage. Im pulling him going into 4th. He says nice run and I turn off. I come to another light and my car sounds funny and then dies. Next light same thing. Im really getting worried. Pull of and look in my engine bay but couldnt tell if it was a vaccum hose or a coupler because the car would die by the time I got to the engine bay. Went to a shop that has done some work on my car which was luckly 5 min away and had the guy there press the gas so I could try and hear something. Notice I cracked my SSV intake manifold down the top long weld. I couldnt believe it but glad i didnt blow the motor. Am I the first to do this?

would not rec that. Do what Jayz said and send it off. If u let him weld it trust me it will happen again and if u change ur mind the next time to send it to kinetix im sure they wont touch it bc it has been tampered with
You almost had me? You never had me! You never had your car! Granny shiftin', not double clutchin' like you should. You're lucky that hundred shot of NOS didnt blow the welds on the intake (Oh, but Jay did this time). Almost had me? Now me and the mad scientist gotta rip apart the block, and replace the piston rings you fried! Ask any racer, any real racer, it don't matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning's winning.

Mind me asking what shop you take your Z to? I've been looking for a good shop around Albuquerque to do business with in the future when I start finally doing some modding to my car. Is it Speed Lab?

Race ported/67mm equipped FD ought to be mean. Especially at ~2800lbs... Nice job; sorry to hear about the manifold though.
