Motordyne Dual Shockwave w/Ti Tips Pics/Soundclips
#301
I've been doing a lot of research lately on different exhaust options and obviously there is tons of info regarding the dual shockwave exhaust but I haven't found much on the VQ exhaust, how does this sound? Is there much power difference between this and the dual shockwave?
Also, after looking on the website I'm still a little confused about the VQ exhaust regarding where it bolts up at. Does it bolt up straight to the xyz pipe?

The VQ exhaust is at the opposite end of the loundess spectrum. Its a Very Quiet exhaust. Its gains are more typical (~11 HP). And yes, it bolts right up to the XYZ pipe or to any other Y pipe.
The Shockwave Dual systems are free'er flowing, lighter and offer more headroom to forced induction applications.

Ok, thanks. That does clear some things up. Although I don't plan to go FI, will I still benefit as much from the dual shockwave?
Also, the price listed on the site for the dual shockwave, does this include the xyz pipe?

okay so just to clarify..the exhaust a true dual 2.5 titanium with rolled tips and includes the resonated xyz pipe.. is there a group buy going on?
Are the TDX's out yet?
I believe Tony mentioned earlier, that there's no significant gains between the TDX's and the duals. Since I'm not going FI, would it really matter? I'm in it for the sound and power though!

The TDX has no time frame on being out. I decided to just purchase the Dual Shockwave from Tony as I have been waiting since March for the TDX to come out. Per Tony, there are no gains really between the two exhausts on a NA car. You can easily switch the mid pipe later if you want TDX version for FI.

OMG this sucker is LOUD and sounds bada$$. My camera actually seems to pick up the sound better than some I have heard. Barely any throttle taking off you hear it in the HD video below. And a few pics of us putting it up. The whole ZSPORT Team.
Tony, might have to consider getting mufflers from you soon.....
Video taking off with 1/4-1/2 throttle.

Possibly. I am going to get the car tuned again, and let them break in before I make that decision but I also have a email to Tony asking him about what I can do. It's mainly the resonance in the cabin that is bothering me.

You will want to try it with the new Motordyne test pipes. (with cats as an option) They are quite different from the usual aftermarket cats. The have specific design features to reduce rasp and drone unlike all the others.
They are quite different from everything else on the market.
