Yeah i'd love a sound clip... webcarconnection, you've been a pioneer at posting sound clips before
We'd love to hear your headers/testpipes/borla combo.

So is FI the only reason to go 2.5' instead of the 2.25'? I want to put these on a stock exhaust setup (which i think is 2.25') so wouldnt 2.25' be best? I do plan on going with a Borla setup later and maybe FI down the road so maybe 2.5 would be a better choice? Basically my question is if I get 2.5' pipes and my stock setup is 2.25 isnt that going to mess up the air flow???
And PLEASE PLEASE someone post a sound clip of these damn pipes with a stock setup!
To all vendors selling these pipes: I think that exhaust note ranks right up there with HP gains, so advertising with a sound clip of what these will sound like would be most benificial for you guys! IM NOT BUYING CUZ I DONT KNOW WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE!
please help..thanks.

If you are FI I would recommend 2.75" - 3.00"
2.25" is best for stock system and Borla and any other system that uses 2.25"
use 2.5" if you are using a Stillen exhaust sytem or other systems that utilize 2.5" piping.
using 2.5" with the stock system shouldn't dusrupt the airflow too much, you will see gains but it would be better if you went with 2.25"

honestly, 2.5 is plenty for FI on these cars - will easily flow 400 + HP worth of air,a nd at least it won't require you to make it custom, or run into possible rubbing issues

i think even 2.25 might work well enough for fi ....... i will be going 2.25 all the way back for now ....being that i will be NA for quite some time........ but yeah ... i would think 2.5 would be ideal for a TT setup.... and i surely donth think i go bigger that 2.75... unless pussing insaine hp #'s

The thing of the sound "raspy, metal, what ever you want to call it" was that if you have Borla TD w Cats Pipes that kind of sound ("leaking") is gonna be more noticible w the cats pipes because you have more exhaust running through your system. the Borla exhaust is the best for HP (my opinion) but have very weak form of bind... if you have NO leaks on your Borla and have the Cats Pipes you have a very noticeble tone of exhaust!( in the Best way)
Ok... My Brother have the Cats pipes w Injen and I have it w Borla and Borla Headers, I'm gonna talk to him to record it both... give me a couple of days to see what I can do!

correct me if in wrong, but arent both the Bolra header collector ID and the true dual ID(internal diameter) 2.25, not 2.5????
and yes, as far as these "leaks" from the bolra exaust go, where are they comming from, and what can be done to stop them????

To clarify on the issue of leak in borlas exhaust
You should check on the clamps both on the H pipe, resonator and muffler, the reason being is that these clamps with the expantion and contraction of the staineless steel due to the heat they tend to loosen up. I had to weld my exhaust in 6 places front of the H pipe which in fact has been eliminated back of H pipe and front of the silencers. my exhaust now sounds great. I have the cat pipes and plenum from crawford and my engine sounds amazing. with regards to my post you can corroborate w webcar.

i have a stillen supercharger with stillen exhaust and have the same test pipes as zred.. the test pipes do make the car sound like a honda...i am going to put back my cats... the sound before was a nice deep sound.. also i believe after i removed my cats the car seems like it lost hp.. i believe due to my experience with z cars they do need back pressure for better performance.....

Some people in here have a few misconceptions about turbochargers exhaust sizing. BIGGER IS BETTER! If you can true dual 3" pipes, then do it! You want absolutely no back pressure with turbocharged applications (unlike naturally aspirated engines), as the turbos will spool faster. This means less lag and full boost at a lower rpm, and max power is also going to be increased.

I'm kinda new and wondered, what size test pipe should I use if I get the injen dual exhaust? Or, what size is the piping on the injen?
