Default Soon to be owner looking to swap the exhaust, need recommendations

Okay guys..

Will be picking up a pretty good, one owner Z end of this coming weekend. It's got a giant fart muffler (imo) and I'd like to have it changed.

My question is probably gonna have a zillion answers and also it all depends on my budget. I've looked at a few cat back exhausts out there and I seem to like the Nismo exhaust a lot. I also understand they have a one year / 12,000 mile warranty on them . So,....do I have to get a Nissan dealership / shop to install it or can i send it to a trusty mechanic to have the warranty in place? .

I realise the Nismo runs about $1000 just to obtain the parts. Anyone know the best sites for these performance pipes with the most competitive pricing? I'm not a racer, but I sure as hell love the sound of a cool exhaust. Also, if anyone could recommend an awesome cat back for under a $1000 that would be great too. I'd just like to hear what you guys out there have done.

I appreciate any responses as long as they're on topic and not "rice" related.

Thanks

Please use the search funtion and you shall find. This will probably be the nicest answer you'll get before you get flamed

here ya go read the whole thing and it will answer your question and then some https://my350z.com/forum/intake-exha...-warranty.html

As far as best prices make sure you talk to some of the venders on this website they can get you a better deal than anywhere else can.

Any mechanic should be able to install the exhaust. Ask for a shop recommendation in your regional forum.

Well spare me and put your zippos away for a sec. I did the search and my specific question about the warranty issue isn't really addressed at least to my scenario.

So my soon-to-be-car has a warranty til Oct '10. The fart-ler that's currently installed has obviously voided the exhaust portion of it. But,...if I were to re-install a Nismo, would that make it "guaranteed" again from the time the Nismo is installed...and....(if I may tag this portion on to my question) ,...who determines the warranty. I'm assuming if I bought "Sam's" used S-tuned Nismo exhaust which had 8k miles on it....the warranty won't transfer...or...if I bought a MINT NEW SHINY setup for $1k....how would it work out.

thanks for all the help thus far.
