Nismo S-Tune Cat Back Exhaust
Question; I can buy a brand new NISMO "cat back' exhaust for $850 in the box. Is this the best exhaust for the money? I like to keep my vehicles close to "factory stock" and I know this retails for around $1200, and dealer cost is around $1050. Any suggestions?

I think one would prefer the less cop-attracting tone of a nismo or nismo-style exhaust versus the injen i have on my HR right now. I also think that any quantifiable power/responsiveness difference would be marginal enough that, at least for me, the purchase of the quieter exhaust would be a better DD fit, as is my case. To reply to your thoughts, I think the price is good for a brand new Nismo, definitely. I'm uncertain of what other options you are entertaining, but this kind of deal is exactly what i'm looking for now given that i'm displeased with my current setup. Get the exhaust, man. It's a good deal, sounds great, stock-looking...nice.

Thanks for all the input! I have owned 30 cars in the last 10 years, some really radical ones such as Twin Turbo 911's, Vipers, CL55 AMG Mercedes, M3's etc. I owned a 2003 350Z and loved it, truly the best "bang for the buck" and my first Z was a 1993 Twin Turbo 300Z. I recently purchased a 2006 Roadster Touring (all options/no Navi) 6 speed. My intention is "light tasteful mod's" close to factory specs. I have the Stillen intake, ordered the Hotchkiss springs (lowering only 9/16 of an inch) and I thought the Nismo exhaust would be a nice addition of moderate sound. Plus the re-sale down the road would probably be good at +/- 50% of what I paid, as will be in a 370Z this time next year!

nismo exhaust will be good enough..
but before u buy, look into motordyne engineering's products.. they have done extensive amounts of testing on 350z's.
also look into a plenum spacer, these work well. (low cost with a noticeable difference)

Here is the link to the dealership. Call and ask for Gene in parts, he had 3 and I bought one. Two left at $825 + $25 shipping, No tax.
