I can't honestly feel much difference between the PC and a blitz drop-in on my 06. PC did seem to make the car feel a bit sluggish during stop and go driving when I was driving "spirited."

I never disagreed with you that at a stop it might suffer from some heatsoak. I simply stated that at a stop or in traffic it doesn't matter.

Matters to me and to anyone else not interested in giving up hp/torque if they don't have to. Call me different

we'll just have to agree to disagree I suppose. Different strokes for different folks.

I'm sure that 2 pound of low end torque is going to help when you get to more forward 10 feet till you stop again.

Just look at the ones that are done with the hood up and a fan running. This would simulate a moving vehicle.

How do you know it's only 2lbs again? That might be only about a 10 deg diff. Underhood temps get much higher than that

Such as?

Again, you don't have to believe me. Listen to the man I mentioned. He has more experience than all three of us combined here.

For all the people crying about under-hood heat... why don't you just get a vented hood?

Stupid thread, the JWT Popcharger has been proven time and time again to be a great product. There's always going to be someone that 'thinks' they know something other people don't and will post junk like this hoping for 1-2 people to agree so that they feel better about not buying the product themselves.

This thread is pointless. Both are fine. Like I said if you have an 03-05 the JWT is a fine upgrade. If you have 06+ there is no reason to upgrade. 06 Boxes in the marketplace seem to be fairly cyclical and there are times when they aren't as available as the JWT.

Who are you referring to? Exactly when has the JWT intake proven itself?

Allow me to throw a wrench in the gears now! lol.......

What if you are FI???

I ask because i'm struggling with weather or not i should keep my popcharger vice install my '06 airbox with K&N drop in. Obviously FI will be flowing more air then NA. So would the "heat soak" of the popcharger be a tradeoff it if it flowed more then the OEM intake?? Or is the OEM intake (2006 with drop in) better all arounnd even for higher flowing (FI) setups??

IMO colder is always better, but i would imagine with FI you'd eventually max out the OEM airbox.

Someone prove me worng, i'd really like to go back to OEM the blower whine is getting obnoxious!! LOL
P.S. Not threadjacking, just thickening the plot!!

Ok who cares it you look 15 pounds or torque in stop and go traffic, what does it matter when your pulling forward 10 feel at less than 5 MPH. Underhood temps do get hot as hell , they also cool down a lot once the car starts moving. Yes i have talked to him, i've spent a bit of time on the phone discussing intake and heat aspects.

Unless he's telling you one thing and posting another, Tony doesn't perfer aftermarket intakes. One reason is the heat soak.

Is the difference perhaps fairly small? Yeah, I'd agree. Never mentioned it was a large one (although I'd say 10-15hp/torque is approaching significant). My only comment is why give that up if you don't have to?

I'd assume Tony's point is if you already have one, one might as well keep it. The difference isn't THAT big.

Pop chargers only add peak HP. Who cares about losing horsepower in traffic and stop lights? You don't do performance mods to sit around in traffic. A couple degrees higher intake temperature in traffic and stop lights will have a negligable effect on horsepower anyway; keep in mind you're in traffic probably sitting below 2k RPM. There's no power there anyway, and none to be lost.

OP's argument = fail. JWT pop charger is a clearly and even visibly more free flowing intake design than VQ35DE OEM intake, and when it comes to where it matters... on the track, and when on the MOVE, the pop charger is an improvement. It's just an intake anyways, who cares? Not a big mod.

I'm pretty sure FI setups have a different intake system......................

I love my JWT popcharger, nice sound and gave me a smoother throttle response. The only thing i dont like is when u go to neutral from 60mph and up your car dies I know u shouldn't be going into neutral at such a high speed but sometimes i forget lol.
