WELL ........
one thing about instalation, the two black plastic/metal sheilds (i don`t know the name or why they are there) had to be removed so the HR Y-Pipe can fit .
there is no day n night change in exhaust tone but there is a change, slit more VQ growl and about 60% less to no rasp (coz HFC with stock exhaust there is alot of rasp) but i think it had become quieter i need to drive it more to know
smoother shifting although i`m AT but i can feel less engine vibration in shifting, lighter Z if u know what i meen.
i can`t tell about change in power since i didn`t try to smash it with WOT yet ,and i need to dayno to conferm it

by the way : i unpluged the battery for over night > is that enough to reset the ECU ? just in case there is some learning need to be done along with the different Y-Pipe ?

i`m trying to uplaod the video but youtupe giving me hard time by not uplaoding.

p.s : did dyno my Z ,numbers wore so disappointing (223 WHP only) i posted thread in tune section if any body can help me correct my gain:

Hey Anan. I'm on of the guys who installed the HR-Y pipe on my G coupe on the thread on Driver.

You say your HP went down? What was your baseline before? Have you reset your ECU yet?

You need to do that for the car to get used to the new exhaust flow quicker. After I did that, I felt some gains. They were minor but I still felt something. My car sounds so nice with the stock exhaust and HR-Y pipe!

Listen to this clip after I had the Berk Metallic HFCs installed.

This was shot with the window down on my way home from GRD here in Illinois

tiguy99 , i didn`t say that my HP went down because of the HR y-pipe , i did not dyno my Z after the y-pipe yet .
my car numbers is low : stock 212 WHP ,after bolts on (in my sig) 223 WHP in here i`v seen stock Z`s gave 240 WHP stock, as i said befor i posted a thread about that in the tune section i think its about tunning .
about the y-pipe and reseting the ECU ,unplugging the battery is not enough thats my Q ?

If you unplugged you battery for I beleive more than 6 hours, that is enough. If not, just google technosquare 350z ecu reset, and follow all those procedures.

If you search the gas pedal method, you can reset it at will. That's actually the best method

Could it also be that your dyno numbers are low because of heat? Don't know if the garage you dyno'd it in is air conditioned but I am in Iraq right now and I would bet that you are pretty close to the same temperature that we are here, and it is already past 100 degree's. Also the total lack of humidity. Just a thought.

Atmospheric conditions always play a role in final whp dyno #s.

Imagine if he were in a 60 degree low humidity scenario not too high above sea level...

I'm sure we'd see somewhat different numbers

mmm well ,,,yes the garage was NOT A/C and the temperature was high , but i don`t think it could be a big difference 5 +/- HP change to tell you the truth i`m looking for a lost of 20sh HP gain from my mod`s (too optimistic maybe but thats whats the calculation of each mod i have)

any how i`v lost intrest in WHP & sound ,working on the looks of my Z now
thank you for the notes

I did the install today. I put on a 08 350z HR y-pipe and i'm loving the results. My only mods are non-resonated test pipes, stock everything else. The HR definitely takes care of the raspiness.

The exhaust tone has increased maybe by 10% and the VQ howl is more pronounced. When i had the DE y-pipe, as the rpms increase it would get really raspy and sounded very muffled (or buzzy). Now with the HR y-pipe its more crisp and the VQ howl is more pronounced at higher rpms as well.

Power wise its nothing big but is something definitely noticeable. Its punchier and smoother. I remember putting my foot down on 6th gear around 50mph and i would have a turbo lag feeling before the power came on. But now even in 6th gear when i tap the throttle you can feel the car kick.

Great value for the money, better yet is OEM! The pucks found on the HR y-pipe got rid metal rattling i got every time i turned off my car.

BUMP
I just installed a HR y-pipe today and so far I like it. I cant say whether or not I felt any more torque (I hadnt driven the Z in 2 weeks).
Does anyone know what the 2 black cylinder things are used for(theyre bolted to the y-pipe)? I just took mine off. I will try to get a video of the sound soon.

Reduce vibrations that cause noise. That is all.
