the only disapointment that I had with the plenum is that on the dyno it showed a loss of hp at low rpms. there are tow issues that i need to adress is that the temp when I dynoed was 100 degrees and my car by some reason was pinig

Interesting... this would be the first dyno to date to lose hp.

Five cars locally showed no indication of this...

 

Please guys dont take it personal, I'm satisfied with my plenum. I can asure you the car gained HP. hte thing is that when I dynoed my car the temp was 100 d plus very humid, also there was some knocking as the dyno graph showed.
I will be changing my plugs to iridium and reseting my timing to cero as we had advanced the timing by two degrees. We got to this conclusion because webcar also had some knockig and his timing was also advanced.
If you guys have any suggestions we will be greatfull

 

I did not dyno my car after the Crawford Plenum install, but there was really no need to dyno it to tell that there was an increase in power at low rpms. I have a 5AT and my car would rarely, only if dirty road or wet pavement, break the tires loose from a stand still launch without power breaking. Now after the plenum install I have to be careful because I have broken the tires loose very easily from a stand still launch without power breaking.

I have not experienced any pinging. I have read though that if you have taken other measures to decrease the A/F ratio, such as the Technosquare ECU, from the factory rich settings, then you may run a liitle lean after adding the Crawford plenum since it is increasing airflow thus making the car run even a little leaner. I am told now that Technosquare will adjust their normal settings closer to factory settings for A/F ratio if you tell them you have the Crawford Plenum so that this does not happen.

 

By the way my fuel ratio is 12.5 at 6400 rpms

 

Very interesting... You would think it would cause the car to lean out, and not go rich.

What mods do you have?

FYI, my car... stock ECU, plenum and high-flow cats... I ran a perfect 13.3 across the board.

5. pulley (crank)
6. cat pipes
7. crawford plenum

 

No dyno... sounds fishy... all that "I can tell you I feel it" doesn't do any good. It's simple sycology. If person spend $500 for something of course he'll fill something to make himself feel good.

No dyno on their website either... Why people so eager experiment on their engines without any solid proof? I guess guys just redistributing money from people who have too much money.

 

Vlad, there have been numerous threads and posts about the Crawford Plenum showing dynos and real improvements. I am more than willing to spend the money on a mod that fellow my350z members have tested and approved. That way I do not have to spend the money to do the dynos myself and I can afford more mods. Sounds to me like you are a little jealous that you do not have a Crawford Plenum. I am not sure why you do not have one yet, but to each his own. For $450 it is one of the easiest, proven mods to date for the 350Z and I am sure that if you tried it and didn't want to keep it that you could easily turn it around and sell it to another Z owner in a matter of minutes.

Sounds like it is time for an alternate source of a/f adjustment. SAFCII or an ECU flashed. Our ECU can only compensate so far. I'm putting my money on the combination of the plenum, cats, and borla causing it to knock out of wack. Get a controller on there, and lean it back out... should be fine.

No it will not fit. There is an indention in the 350z plenum already to allow to hood to close. No direct replacement bar will fit except ours.

 

interesting, I plan on Plenum and test pipes, what have you dyno'd with your set up?? any sound clips (curious about how it sounds)???

 

If so, you need to tell him ahead of time so he knows not to expect a core back from you.

 

Dynos have been posted. It is simple psychology, if I spent $500 on something and didn't feel good about it then I'd come here and complain about it. I wouldnt find something to make me feel good. Nothing would make me feel good over losing $500 for a bad product.

People are eager to experiment because they have seen results posted here. Obviously you haven't. I suggest you learn how to use the "Search" function. Your last statement just goes to show how ignorant you are.
