Default ARC induction box and pipe for 03-06z

Hi,

I tried searching here and google for some dynos or review on this unit, but can't find anything on it.

It just seems to be a pretty bling bling item and that seems to be it.

Is that it or does it really have a performance value?

Thanks!

Most people that own these didn't really buy it for a performance gain, but rather for looks and the name imo. It isn't going to perform better than any other intake system for a stock z.

ARC is stupidly priced!!! I laugh at people that throw money down for the name. It may be high quality, but seriously how long are you really going to keep your car. You are NEVER goign to get your money's worth out of it.

I saw a used intake (metal box and filter) on the forum for $500!!! Who in thier right mind is going to pay $500 for that when they can get the same effect from a $60 used pop charger!!!

Someone with a sheet metal bender could make a superior one for 1/2 the $500 cost IMHO.

You're never going to get your money's worth on your mods and your car is losing resale value as you read this.

So might as well charge some ridiculous price for a modification?

Wacko logic

No doubt. But a $300 Koyo radiator is going to last just as long, and cool just as well as a $2000 ARC radiator!! Or a home made oil cooler of equivilant size that can be had for roughly $200 and change in parts, will laast just as long and do just as good of a job as a $1500+ ARC oil cooler!!

That's what i'm saying. It's not a matter of you get what you pay for, it's a matter of flat out throwing tons of cash away for a name. We're not just talking a few bucks here, that i could understand.

You mean like purchasing a stillen stage 4 SC?

I don't see why you are hating on these products. If you can't afford them or simply would not pay the money for the items, thats your choice. But don't b|tch and hate on ppl who want, and have the ability to purchase said items...

I was waiting for that one. LOL
But i bet if ARC made the same exact supercharger, people would pay 4 times the money for it just because it's ARC.

Honestly though, i'm not hating, more like not understanding.

its not your money so it doesnt matter, people like the way it looks and the what the name represents, people are for show and then theres people for performance. regardless of of the price and how it performs, people buy it because they want. some things you just cant understand why they happen.

I had the 53mm Koyo radiator and now own an ARC unit that is thinner. There is no comparison in quality with the ARC being a much better unit. The ARC has a lot more density as far as radiator fins go. Ask Brian over at City Tire Online about how his temps with his Twin turbo setup dropped after utilizing an ARC radiator unit.

On the intake, we all know that the OEM intake works just fine. You have to understand that the tuning style from Japan is about mixing power gains, aerodynamics, handling, as well as aesthetics of the entire vehicle. That's why you see titanium strut bars and exhaust systems that have clean welds, superior build quality, and a hefty price tag.

Just because you cannot afford it or not in to it does not mean that everyone is crazy for having expensive taste. For instance, I would dare you to try to duplicate an Amuse exhaust system's characteristics of great sound, build quality, hp gain, as well as great looks and see if it can easily be done for $2,500 from a local exhaust shop. It is not going to happen. The reality is for most of the stuff, you get what you pay for.
