Default Borla true dual and aam 2.5 test pipes on the HR

I was looking at this exhaust set up for my z. I have been searching the net looking for a sound clip of ot and cannot find one anywhere . Just wondering if anyone has this set up and has a clip or can give me an idea of what it sounds like.

I have the borla true duals , car runs better but the exhaust doesn't sound much better than stock imo,it fits awesome!.I don't have test pipes though,I thought about taking off the resonators for more sound, also it would be louder with test pipes, Craig.

Yeah, I've heard the borla system... without HF cats or test pipes its pretty tame... Although your post doesn't say anything about price... I am imagining it to be around 1K from back when I was shopping around for the best exhaust for me. Of course the choice is your's but you may want to at least consider Bassani - I have not Dyno'd my car (before or after install) but Bassani claims to make the most horse power of all the after market exhaust systems... It has something to do with the X-pipe crossover between the two resonator pipes vice the H pipe like the one Borla uses. The X pipe is self scavenging because of the construction and it equalizes pressure between both sides as a result - Before the exhaust get to the muffler. While the H pipe is intended to do this - many believe the X pipe does it more efficiently. Bassani is 304 Stainless just like Borla with a life time warranty... Last but not least - It sounds exotically deep and resonate... NO Drone at highway speeds... One might say SWEEEEEEET!

I have the borla TDE with AAM hi flows and the sound I thought was amazing.
But I'd stay away from the borla headers though.
I thought it was a good upgrade and gave it a smoother kick accelerating.

you really need the hfcs or test pipes to liven up the borla. i loved mine the best with hfc's and the resonators removed. i still miss them sorta.

thanks for the input guys I just wondered because I've heard that the borla with testpipes sounds very exotic. Also I have researched the bassani exhaust and it sounds good but the borla from what I have heard through vids sounds stock except for its louder... add test pipes and I'm thinking it will sound sick ... And nismo is out of the question haha
