Injen vs Nismo Cold Air Intake?
Good question. I've been wondering the same thing. I haven't seen any direct comparisons. I don't think it has been done.
The only Nismo CAI's I have seen are as part of a package, either the NISMO-R, or the recently described J-spec NISMO Sports Resetting package. However, both of these NISMO packages include other upgrades, besides the CAI. So, even if/when Dyno numbers are posted for these packages, it won't separate out performance increases secondary to the CAI, vs. the ECU, cams, headers, etc.
Also, I haven't seen the NISMO CAI sold separately, so I'm not sure you can accurately say that it is more expensive than the Injen.

I've noticed a better response at speed ever since removing the plastic divider in my bumper, allowing cold air to go to the AEM from in front of the radiator.
In the linked thread... with a big fan blowing straight at the injen filter, and the plastic blocking the area the fender sits at, i'm certain this is responsible for the difference.

It would seem that many people really like AEM so maybe I should rethink going with Injen. To all the AEM fans, why is AEM better than Injen? I want the better of the two products so any information would be helpful.

This is true. But, the order of dyno runs was base, then AEM, then Injen. And, as many have stated, with multiple, repeated Dyno runs, the 350Z seems to make better numbers with each successive pull, regardless of mods. It would be interesting to see what numbers are generated if the testing order were reversed. But, again, as many have stated, the confidence interval on numbers generated, even using the exact same car on the exact same day, and the exact same dyno is around +/- 7 hp. When we're talking gains of 10 hp or less, well you know. My personal opinion . . . CAI's probably help a little, and at least they can't hurt, assuming you keep the filter clean.
After trying and removing the ACI from the front of the radiator, I think that except for the look of chrome in the engine compartment and a difference in sound, I received no increase in performance. The stock setup is probably already designed for optimal operation.
I am sticking with a K&N filter in the stock box. All intakes still go through the 3 inch MAF sensor. Unless you add a blower to the intake only so much air can be sucked through the MAF sensor even if you add a longer wheel well or front radiator snorel. Air temperature will not vary much between a CAI or stock box, unless you go the Pop-Charger JWT route for warmer air intake. Each to his own.

NISMO sits in a place where it can take in more air... plus it comes with a water diverter... it isnt as expensive on http://www.mynismo.com
the INJEN doesnt take in as much air where it is in real world driving... and it doesnt have a water diverter... and you will be cleaning the filter more...
JWT Pop charger shows alot of gain as well...

In real world driving you drive straight. The filter is in the front bumper. You cant get much more air than that besides sticking it out of the hood.
Everything that was put in the front is meant to be cooled (where the most air is). If it was true that the loacation of the Nismo got more air then at least some stuff that got cooled would be inside the wheel well.
