I've heard the hi flows don't last as long, I think it makes more sense to buy test pipes, and whenever you have inspections to take them off and put your cats back on. If a light comes on certain auto retailers will clear the code for free.

Mike...?.....Please post how the install goes. I think I've read that there might be an issue with the bolts/studs/washers. Let us know if any new hardware is needed. If and when I do mine, I want to have EVERYTHING needed for a hassle free install. Good luck!

I needed washers and bolts, because some don't come out of the cats, and the holes in the test pipes are kinda big to be used without washers.

All of our pipes now come with hardware. You get 4 fine threaded bolts with the necessary washers and they now also come with lock nuts for the vibration.

It is true that high flow cats will burn out, an they will become louder as they get older.

How much horsepower does installing test pipes give?

And does it make the car much louder?

In the beginning the noise is a bit loud, but as you drive more with them on, the sound becomes more mellow, but still aggressive.

By the by, lsdunique, how are your camber and traction rods coming? I'm redoing my suspension and would be interested in your camber rods.

My pipes just arrived, BUT the box was partially opened.

Can someone tell me if I got ALL the contents or if I am missing any??

I got
1) 2 pipes
2) 4 BOLTS WITH NUTS
3) 8 washers

is that it??

I also heard that when you put the test pipes in the car smells?

The test pipes must be REALLY loud because I've read of several people on here taking them off.

RodH,

glad you got your pipes so fast, we are trying to descrease our turnaround time.

Sorry your box was slightly opened but the parts you listed are all that is needed for the pipes, I hope your install goes well!!

I think they are supposed to be loud with certain exhuasts, while others (Stock, Borla, etc..) it isn't so loud with.

I HOPE it isn't too loud, I am getting teh Crawford Plenum and someday a Borla, but for now the test pipes and plenum will be it.

I Hope it "opens" up a little bit and sounds that way, but NOT obnoxious

RodH,

I'm really looking forward to a review from you on the test pipes! Tell us how you like them.

I just got a UR pulley and promised myself to stop modding for a while... damn it. I can't STOP.

When mine come in (end of next week hopefully) I will go the next weekend to dyno in Atlanta on a Dynojet Dyno. My car is stock otherwise except for resonator delete. I pray for 10whp and I think that is the usual.

I'd also like to buy straight pipes.......one question.......when you put them on, where does the O2 sensor go? Is there already a hole in them, or do you have to put one in, or do you just not use the O2 sensor.

Is this test pipe something I can do myself or I need a muffler shop to change it for me?
