Default AEM intake installation need help !!!

I got the AEM look alike from Pro1 and it didnt come with instruction so I just install it while looking thru pics on this website. As I was removing the wires for the wheels speed and another big one I kinda damage the plastic housing on the big one so I took it off and tape them up with electrical tape.
Why is that part of wires been cover up by the winding plastic housing? Doe it serve a specific purpose? Thx.

I don't know if you used the AEM Installation Guide that I posted, but was it the "blue" connector in picture 2H or the "big black wiring harness" in picture 3F? In my opinion I don't think it would matter, but better wait for a "professional" opinion.

Its purpose is to protect the wires and provide a secure path for the cables. The 350 has similar cable trays throughout for ease of factory installation.
