I just got mine put on the other day. I love the sound. It's a bit loud but I love it. I will be putting on the straight tips next week. Well good luck on your Injen SES if you get one.

im still not sure why you all think the ses is so loud????? i went from the tanabe super racing medalion (wich uses the factory y-pipe), to the ses (true duals) on my Z, and the tanabe was WAY louder!!! i did finaly hear the borla in person at nissan parts the other day, and to tell you the truth (flame suit on!) i was NOT impressed! it just seemed too tame? i guess if you compare the ses, to the borla, then it would seem loud. i dont realy consider the Z a sleeper, so i dont see why everyone is SOOO conserned with keeping the exhaust db's down? people know its a fast car, why not let them hear it scream as you pass them!?!? (just my $.02) let the flaming begin!

No prob man....
My dealership's body shop installed it along with the Injen CAI for FREE when they were fixing my front end after my little accident with a tree.... (I got a price quote from the dealership for installation of the exhaust before I took it for body work and they quoted me $190 ).
The body work came out FLAWLESS along with the exhaust, as you can see. Some people have posted pics of their Injen SES after install and it has been hanging too low or pointing too much to one of the sides. My tips are perfectly angled through the stock cutouts for the exhaust. I was weary when I ordered the Injen becasue of the lack of quality pics in which the exhasut install was done correctly on this forum with exception to failsaf3 and xzlR8, but when I picked up my car, I knew I had made the RIGHT choice.
BTW, Dezee...I totally agree with you, this exhaust is LOUD but not nearly as loud as a lot of other exhausts I have heard on other cars in my area. It is suprising to me that cars like the new EVO 8 which are supossed to be TOTALLY geared around racing are not released with more agressive sounding exhausts.

As far as looks are concerned....in order to see it's true beauty you just have to stand back a couple feet to get the angle where the car behind would see.....

I think the worry about sound is the need to distance yourself from the ricer fart can crowd. it is not so much about hiding, as not being flamboyantly out there with it.
I dont really like the canisters just cause... they dont look even... are they? is the light just playing tricks. you always see canisters hanging out the back of civics, I wish they could have hidden them a bit more...

The canisters are even- aproy's pic is at a slight angle. The exhaust is louder than the Borla but doesn't make a "fart can" sound. It's just a more aggresive growl. I love the sound of the Borla and really like the tone the Nismo, but the Injen looks and sounds more aggressive. Sounds especially nice with headers
. Need to find someone who can record some sound clips for me.

No flame needed. Exhaust loudness is totally a personal opinion. It's silly to flame someone for liking something someone else might not like.

The reason I don't want a loud exhaust is because the Z will be my only car and I'll have to use it for all my driving needs. I don't mind a loud exhaust around town or especially when at the track or driving hard. But I gotta say, nothing sucks more than a loud exhaust when you're on a 1000 mile road trip and cruising down the freeway for hours at a time.

heres how i will describe the sound
fart cans sound like there is a little pebble stuck in them
the injen exhaust has as noticable a sound but for all the right reasons
civic exhaust sound like they are shaking because they are like "hanging" off the car
the injen has a sound as if it is tightly bolted to the car huffs and puffs with a deap groan as opposed to rattle and creak
