Planning on getting K&N Cone Filter to replace the OEM Air box. Which one should I get (A, B, or C)...

Long Type:

Choice B: MOUNTING FLANGE IS 3-1/2" ID, 9" LONG, 6" BASE, 4-5/8 TOP (too big?)

Default Choice B, but shorter

I'm using a 6" version (no ***** cracks please) to replace my Injen filter.

I'm also going with a dry wrap to keep the sand off.

For your MAF, wont you need a housing adapter?

Darn, thats what I thought. No housing adapter...Project K&N is down the drain...

So let me get this strait (lol...strait), you are using an Injen CAI or possilbe the short ram (lol...short) with a K&N Air filter instead of the Injen Filter?

Default Bigger filter on CAI

I'm going with the bigger filter beacuse, 1) to compensate for the added restriction of the dry wrap, and 2) my original Injen filter is messed up, with too many dents and the media looks a little damaged.

I like those short ram set-ups, I wish the G had that ram air opening into the front area.

Just cut the flange off of the MAF housing

Doesnt the heatshield come with an adapter?

Im really confused...Are you using a K&N with the stock intake? So if I cut the flange off of the MAF housing, it will work? Dont think the heatshield comes with an adapter, cuz ur suppose to buy their filter.

Thanks

Default Nothing special

I'm using a K&N on my Injen CAI that larger than the regular Injen filter. Its not a short ram, it goes all the way down in front of the wheel well. Basic set-up, just different filter. I dont have it installed yet, I still waiting for my filter to arrive.

Dude, I wouldnt cut by MAF housing flange off. I would get the actual kit thats shown in the pic you posted. Is got all the mounting hardware and brackets so it dont flop around.

Hopefully not of the subject here...when did JWT change the filter color from blue to red and do all the heatshields now come with that piece (rubber/leather?) on top...because mine did not

Default Stock wheels, heavy foot

Too much gas out of the hole. Its not really a time to have on one's sig but, that miracle 1/8th mi time looks better with it.

Why have you now decided on the Injen? Are you going to use it in the short ram config?
