OEM Nismo Exhaust vs. S-Tune Nismo Exhaust?
Is the exhaust coming out of an OEM Nismo the same thing as the aftermarket S-Tune Nismo exhaust?
Some members claimed that the OEM Nismo exhaust is the exact same thing as the OEM Non-Nismo exhaust except it has overized tips with NISMO imprint.
Help me out please!

The OEM was designed and made by HKS with larger tips, majority of car reports state it was created to give a deeper tuned sound, no specifications on HP gain. On the other hand the S-tune was designed by Fujitsubo, and made by Weldina for performance.
I've had so many debates with people who own Nismo Z's and they all get offended when I say this, but i've done my research and that's what I've came up with.
they are not the same.

Sorry to interject here but when we see people who make those sound clips of their exhaust and talk about there new nismo exhaust, which one are they talking about? The S-tune or the one off the Nismo 350. Is there any slight gain with either of them or is it just purely sound cause I'm not looking to lose power either. Thanks

As others have said - the 2 exhausts are significantly different. I believe the Nismo s-tune cat-back is much louder and provides somewhat of a hp/tq gain (6hp/3.5 ft-lb to rear wheels). I love mine.

The stock NISMO 350z exhaust is not the same as the S-tune... anyone who tells you differently should simply look under their rear bumper, completely different welding/parts/material...
It is just the MUFFLER and the tips... which is why I must now replace my stock exhaust with nismo S-tune, HKS or motordyne... .
I would hope the S-tune exhaust sounds better and produces more power, certainly.

I see.. so in conclusion the nismo exhaust coming out of a Nismo Z has the same Y pipe and mid pipe as the regular version Z but the muffler is different and it's made by HKS supposedly.
Awesome... I'm picking up an OEM Nismo Z exhaust for a really good price and will put that on my gf's G35 (it should fit right on if it's just the muffler that I need to replace and no mid-pipe)

Correct, the S tune inlet is larger diameter wise than the stock mid pipe.
Also the OEM Nismo is just a revised OEM exhaust, the S tune is a different exhaust system with larger piping. For the full system you need to pick up the Nismo Y pipe or a compatible Y pipe with a larger outlet to mate up directly with the S tune midpipe.
