Default Borla Headers Dyno Numbers???

I am going to buy Borla TD exhaust today and I really want to do the Borla headers at the same time. I have done a search and haven’t found a single dyno sheet just doing the headers install.
I know mossy’s car has the borla headers and showed some gains but ive read several (old) posts stating otherwise. Is this worth the $600 parts + $300-$500 install?
Has anyone done a before and after dyno run with these headers? Also, will there be that much gain if I already have Test Pipes and I put a Borla TD?
If you have dyno sheets with the nismo id like to see that in comparison.

Thanks

Not sure on the Borla gains, but Borla has said they arent much. Nismo headers result in more HP.

My baseline dyno was 235 hp and after installing Borla headers and exhaust I dynoed at 248. My estimate on the headers would be about 6 hp but it sounds great.

I since then added an injen cai which makes the sound even better.

But I have to do it again, I won't buy the headers for the amount of money I have spent. Around $550 plus 3.5 hours install.

Also, I am not able to install the heat shield for the injen cai because it is suppose to attach to the stock headers.

So theres no way the heat sheild for the injen fits with the Borla headers? And 6HP for $$$900
hmmm...i might be rethinking the whole borla headers thing...
Thanks for the info Arvin.
Is there a different sound with the added headers?
Anyone else have any thoughts? Numbers?

This is true..but I need something NOW!
I can always sell off my headers and plenum if i go for the TT setup...still might do S/C if someone comes out with a quieter one.

The Nismo headers don't provide that much more HP:

http://www.350zforum.com/tech/NISMOR...neheaders.aspx

Not to justify double the price of the Borlas.

David Borla himself said that his headers don't gain much power, but torque increase is there for sure.

little_rod.

I think the Nismos have been showing 7HP or so consistently. From what I have seen, the Borla headers have never shown a gain that was in my opinion outside the range of error of the dyno.

Nismo may cost twice as much, but I dont think the Borla does much, so really the option is Nismo or nothing.

Besides, once you add the install cost the Nismo isnt double the price.

Don't pay too much attention to the peak numbers. Compare the two tq curves.

Well, all I was saying that it doesn't really provide the power that was quoted by Nismo. Not ******* them, they are just not as good as I first thought. In the Borla setup, the exhaust provides the HP and the headers provide the torque. This is an opinion I have gathered after looking at the power outputs for both.

Well, actually, even the author admits that the dyno was not a good comparison due to the different temp conditions. He believes that the NISMO Header can produce more if the conditions were similar.

I guess we'll never know for sure; however, NISMO exhaust produced the quoted HP in the Z Exhaust shoot out. So knowing NISMO, their headers should produce very close to their quoted HP.

The dynos were SAE corrected so the affect from the difference in temp, humidity, climate, etc. are minimal. Regarding the K&N filter, this is an interesting read: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/airfilter/airtest1.htm

Thanks for the response guys...ive decided and already placed the order for the Borla header/exhaust combo. Nismo headers are just waayy to expensive.
Does anyone have any dyno sheets for this combo? Baseline and after install?
If no dyno sheets available, can anybody else just post the HP/TQ gains?

Am i only to expect a 13 HP gain?
If so, im sure the exhaust note makes up for any lack of SERIOUS gains...

Well what’s the review after install? I have a mismatched setup with Berk HFC’s, ISR y pipe, Invidia N1 to the mufflers. Was looking at Borla headers. I’ve heard a full borla setup on a 370z and it was honestly too loud for my liking, what are your thoughts
