Intake flow will only be as great as what the exhaust will allow. I have a DE with the Injen CAI and I could hear it with the OEM exhaust. Now I've installed an Agency Power and dayum! Combined these two things make my Z SCREAM like a banshee!

Some intakes have even shown loses. The AEM and Nismo are the worst i believe.

The only 2 good things to do to the DE's intake is either a popcharger, or switch your intake box with that of the 06-08 and throw in a K&N filter. Any other intake is a waste of money imho.

Actually the injens use dry filters. Not sure if the OP is running something else, but that's what came with mine.

They are blue, if you search the DIY installs, there are a few pics of them.

I noticed a big change in sound when I installed mine.. much more throaty than stock intake. The real growl comes from the HFC's + Bassani combo or equiv.

Not sure, exactly...i would try and search on here for that.

Just believe me when i tell you to either get the popcharger, or a 06+ airbox with drop in K&N filter.

I think Z magazine did a comparison of all the intakes, and the popcharger won with the most gains. AEM, Injen, Nismo, Fujita, etc are all a waste of money.

You must understand, cold air intakes are not always better. The further the air has to flow through a tube the weaker the suction is at the filter, thereby the less air the intake is sucking in. Thats why they have short-rams.

You want to find the perfect balance between the shortest length of tube, and best placement of filter/box to bring in cold air....pref as far away from the hot air the engine is heating up as possible. The stock length of tube is the perfect length.
