did you already take out the silencer? I know someone on here who wanted it louder, only to find out one month later he had a silencer on it.

That was me! I like it, much louder, but good loud, deeper. Not parent or gf friendly, though.

It would be cheaper, and accually give you more power just picking up a used set of testpipes. Leave the first muffler in place.

Z1M test pipes, megan racing y, greddy ti-c with resonator removed.

all I can say is DRONE, however the car sounds really sweet at 4k and beyond, way less deeper than with the resonator.

Here are two vids from the cabin. Sorry I haven't recorded it from the outside yet, but soon!

Default Greddy Ti-C Dual Exhaust Rasp Noise

Hey guys,

I just recently got my HR 350z a few months ago so I am still new to this forum. Installed the exhaust and stillen gen 3 dual cai and the car sound amazing. Few weeks ago I installed fast intentions resonated test pipes, it sound a lot louder. The problem I have is between 1.5-2.5k rpm during decel, there is this rasp noise that sounds like something is rattling (like something loose in resonator rattling) nothing is loose during the installation, did a little research and it seems like a common problem with test pipes. I was wondering if I did something wrong or if there is a fix. Because the sound is annoying when the rpm drops down to the 1.5-2.5k point.

Thanks in advance.

i dont think rattling noise from tps are common at least not with me. Yes i have slight rasp at low rpm but nothing like that. I say install ur cats back and see if it still makes the noise. If thats it either live with it or go HFCs. GL

do you have the 2 silencers provided with exhaust installed, the silencer is mounted by three small allen key bolts on the rear mufflers,

there were no rasp before tps were installed. same thing with my cousin's 350z and our technician also came to the conclusion its due to test pipes.

do you have the greddy ti-c dual exhaust too? if so what tps are you running?

The "metal ringing" sound is normal on test pipes. Even with resonated test pipes. I know the sound. It happens when winding down. I got rid of it by installing a resonated x-pipe to my dual exhaust.

I don't know if it will fix the problem, but i'll tell what i experienced, when i took the silencers out the tips where loose so i used one bolt to keep them in place so after couple of days a noticeable and annoying rattle appeared in the same rpm range you described, so i installed all bolts and no rattling any more, my z is come stock except of the greddy dual ti-c.
