I wouldn't worry about the name anymore, so many companies have the same clone its ridiculous. Unfortunately, its a crap shoot at how well it fits out the box.

Here's mine on the dyno with the Magnaflow x-pipe. Used to be loud especially with test pipes but it is now very quite on the freeway with the x-pipe.

I've heard that the exhaust rusts after some time. Any way to prevent rusting? Maybe some type of clear coat or something??

I don't think you'll have a problem in CA, most of the people having issues are those in climates that vary greatly. I think those places also use road salts which lead to further degradation. Here in CA, especially So-Cal, you shouldn't run into that. Plus its a $250-450 (depending where you get it from) exhaust system, I'd say consider it a two to four year consumable and not really worry about it. I'm working on year two and its still looks clear of any rust and in great condition. I love the modified sound (see the X-pipe mod) but its a little louder than I'd like for the street so I may be looking for something else soon.
