So I once owned an 03 Track Z. I had to sell it and am now in the market to replace both vehicles I have with (an inexpensive) one as I go back to school, and as a result - work a good deal less. I'm looking at G35s coupes as they seem to be readily available with somewhat low prices. I'd love to pick up a pre-turbo'd one but the likelihood seems slim.
I was thinking all motor might be the way to go for a while, however I know when I had my Z 300whp N/A was nearly unattainable and the main tuning solution was still Emanage Ultimate or a reflash, (UTEC was just being released at the time).
Now I see there's a lot more variety, Accessports are $500 new for example. So it raises a couple questions...
1- Is close to 300whp attainable without opening up the motor (ie cams)?
2- If not, what should I expect to see with full intake/exhaust mods and a good accessport tune?
3- I recall the main mods being, intake, plenum or plenum spacer, headers, full exhaust, and a tune... Am I missing anything? Has anything new been released?
Thanks

hey guys i have a car and i wnat to mod it with like bolt ons but want a bunch of power and i used to have thiss car but I sold it and now i am probly getting a G35 if i can sell my other cars to cover the swap cost. so like i said i had this car and was ont he forum before but i don't feel like looking around instead will start a thread and ask the question instead. lol but its ok, i dont care you all can flame and hate me or whatever. but lol so like I want a new g35 i think and so i want to be able to smoke accords at stoplights and things and to be able to quote horsepower figures when girls ask me how much power I put out because that is what matters. so i will get a red or a black g35 but not white because there are too many white cars around. do they make g35s in convertables/ I hope they do because everyone should drive a convertable because they are the best. it always confuses me why there are so few roadsters on the road lol like what gives? thanks for the help and let me know what mods I can do to my car to make it fast and if i can get a g35 in a convertable in red.

No.

~ 270 maybe? I don't know. Does the number matter that much?

If HP numbers are that important, I'd look at another car.

For the 2 others who gave worthwhile replies I appreciate it.
To answer the why questions about power...
My C5 Corvette (Which I really won't be able to afford so it's being sold) is a 3200lb car with 350whp. It was very enjoyable on the street and also at HPDE/Open Track days. I'd like to replace it with something that has a few luxury features like my Acura DD does and still have some power like my Corvette, still RWD as well. I know a G35 is going to be 200lbs more in weight than my Corvette so I was hoping I could get it at least close to 300whp. However I think I should just hold out to find a car with a base TN ST or Greddy kit with a good tune that makes 350+ already and just really check it out before I buy.
Thanks
If you have come to like the power/weight ratio of your Vette, you won't be happy again with the Z. Even with FI, the Z won't have the lower end torque that you get with the Vette. You might miss it.
Go out and drive a Z. If the power seems good enough to you, then go for it. But if it doesn't, don't think that throwing a lot of money at it will make a significant improvement.
One of the reasons I didn't buy an S2000 was that I like the increased torque that the Z has.

You're either a completely terrible troll. Or a completely terrible idiot.
