I have done a bit of searching on the topic and I am still left short handed.
How is the quality and sound compared to the real thing. I am looking at HKS replica especially. I also hear the fitment is off as well, but by how much?
Does anyone have this exhaust or know enough about it that could help me out?

Would be a lot of difference between replica exhausts and real thing. Fitment issues... and the materials they use for the piping. Most are prone to rusting because they will be using low grade metals and what not.
if you can't afford the real thing get something else, that is real.
Seriously, most knock off exhausts need nasty amounts of work to fit.
I'd recommend the Motordyne Shockwave (vendor here) if you want something that sounds good (albeit a bit loud) that is affordable.
I get the feeling most people buy the HKS for its looks, because from the cars i've seen in person it sounds like crap.

Honestly, I heard decently good reviews about the HKS Replica, and no fitment issues at all. I guess it depends on which vendor you purchase it from.
However I did hear a lot of stuff about the piping rusting over a period of time, but some people like the sound of the replica over the real deal.
