Default 370z stock exhaust on a 350z????

hey guys I wanted to know if any of you have seen a swap done from a 370z exhaust into a 350z mine is a 04' de , I was looking for a hr y pipe and came across the 370z stock mid pipe and muffler. Im going to buy the hr y pipe and wondered if they could fit the 370z exhaust onto the 350z. its a great deal as it would be $150 for the y pipe and exhaust with the installation . lmk what u guys know, i did a search and couldnt find anything

i check on another forum and they say the are similar but teh wheelbase of the 370z is shorter and the 370z wont fit a 350z muffler but then the 370z muffler should be able to fit , even if some hangers need to be welded on. on that note I think that it should fit but might need some cutting and welding here and there

Anything can fit with "some" cutting and welding. The exhausts are completely different. The tips come out differently, it's all different, but go for it. I have a stock 300ZX exhaust in the garage that you can try for $100. Why not go that route? It's just a "slightly different wheelbase" also.

I think the important question is "why?"

^^ Agreed...

Why purchase a Stock restrictive exhaust when you can bascially purchase an X02 HKS Knockoff Exhaust used for around $300.00, which has much more airflow and looks much better

I have gone faster with less on my 94 mustang when ppl said that the car was too heavy, the ecu's were bad etc.
why u ask, to be different , the 300zx exhaust wasnt funny at all, c'mon seriously. the exhaust looks alot better thought out then our 350z in the first place. the hr y pipe on a de has been shown to add a good 5hp / 5tq. and for $75 installed it sure beats the expensive y pipe that will add an extra 1hp against the hr y pipe, and those cheap *** ebay leaking pipes and those crappy meagan pieces oem nissan all the way, it also adds to the sleeper look, i have a plenum spacer, jwt intake, some hfc i ad welded in that I had from a previous stang, under that factory heat shields, ground wires I made, most Im gonna get an osiris tune as well and most ppl that dont own z's would think it only has an aftermarket intake filter and adding the 370z exhaust would keep it that way. I was attempting to be different and actually get some good info but instead i get sarcastic comments and a condesending tone. once again I am on my own. I mean somene had to be the first to find out lil tricks that help our cars out, but instead most of you are the ones waiting for an aftermarket parts company to tell you what works best on our cars

Doing a VQ35HR 350z exhaust swap might be beneficial. As the HR's Y is a much better design than the non-HR units. But the 370z HR Y actually has SMALLER dia tubes than the 350zHR Y pipe. So the 350Z HR Y and exhaust is probably what you want to try if anything.

IMHO, unless it's a motordyne exhaust, I find all the "brand" name exhausts like HKS and what overpriced JDM exhausts out there to be a waste of time. Teh HKS doesn't even have a proper X pipe.

I went with motordyne art pipes, Hr y pipe and a custom 3 in mid pipe with a 14" magnaflow muffler. the hr y pipe is the restrictive part and Im in need of a larger y pipe. thx for the help anyways. th0e current set up was good for a 2.1 60ft 13.7 @ 103mph on street trim down in south texas, after the y pipe Ill get a tune and a sound clip for ya
