Default HKS or Motordyne Exhaust?

There both around the same price with titanium tips and I heard HKS is the best for the Z and Some dude at Motordyne just makes fantastic great parts only for the 350z and G35s So which one is better or are they both the same?

Some say the hks is the best exhaust for N/A, while the greddy evo tt is the best for F/I. However, that was before the MD came out, I heard the MD produces more whp than other exhausts, and it sounds good. Just listen to each in person and chose which one you like better.

Motordyne give you a fully changable, with easy to obtain replacement parts and power producing exhaust. What does HKS do?

I have motordyne shockwave. My only complaint is the mid section hangs really low, and i've painfully banged it on quite a few bumps already.

Just choose on what sounds best to you. I had HKS and the sound was pretty cool, but did not sound as good as my Nismo with HFC's. Every sound clip I heard of MD exhausts sounded horrible, but you can swap parts for other parts I think to quiet it down.

Also check out the Stillen before making a final decision, frees up good power and sound decent.

MD no question... good gains, sounds MUCH better than HKS, and is interchangeable/customizable for sound and/or looks...

my only complaint is that the tips stick out way too far past the rear bumper for my taste, and ive tried pretty much everything to push them back in (including cutting them down from the rear)

also want to add that ive had the following combinations of exhausts, cats, and y-pipes:
-nismo, nismo y-pipe, stock cats <-- this was ok
-nismo, nismo y-pipe, HFCs <-- this was nice, but raspy
-nismo, nismo y-pipe, TPs <-- this was nicer, but much louder and much raspier
-nismo, MD XYZ-pipe w/resonator, TPs <-- MUCH less rasp, loud, and very nice, exotic sound
-MD Shockwave (dual), stock cats <-- extremely loud, but exotic and aggressive, 2nd favorite
-MD Gamma (dual), stock cats <-- this is by FAR my favorite [for daily driving]... exotic, loud enough, but not where it would give me a headache...

and the best part is that i still have the straight un-muffled rear sections to convert my Gamma back to Shockwave if i wanted to... in fact, now that the Z is no longer my DD, i will probably go back to the loud Shockwave combo

I've tried the Fast Intentions and Greddy EvoTT. They both drone.

The MD Shockwave 2 TDX is the cleanest sound I've ever heard from an aftermarket exhaust. The interchangeable components give you plenty of options to customize to your preferences. The piping is ideal for FI (true dual 3") or NA (2.5" expanding to 3") depending on your selections. No other exhaust has this level of R&D put into it...

The MD exhaust should not have any low hanging components - not sure why stylett9's is low - my x pipe muffler is above the frame rails.
