Hey guys its time for me to get a smog check, but I have a injen cai. My friend has an 05 g35 coupe, and I was wondering if the stock intake on the coupe would work on my z? Any help would be greatly appreciated. If someone could clarify this as soon as possible, you would be so awesome!!!

you cant pass a smog check with an intake? it doesnt change emissions and the sensor is put in the tail pipe, Ca might be different just asking

 

Intakes don't fail smog inspections...

 

God I love Florida.. No damn smog checks. I don't think it'll make a difference, the only difference between the 2 was the G35 intake tube is baffled while the 350z is a straight pipe. It's been said that G35's gain HP with a Z-tube install. Does your intake not have the CARB sticker on it?

 

No my intake is make my injen and they have no carb sticker for it yet. I live in california, and is the hardest state to pass smog. They won't smog my car with my intake on. I even changed the end of the tube, to become the stock box again. But the piping still says injen on it.

 

Go to another smog place, I passed very easily with the Nismo intake at Cars automotive in Redondo Beach.
