I have AAM non resonated test pipes with over 15k miles, and no problems yet. But my CEL came on only after around 500 miles of driving.

I'm running GTM test pipes now with headers and the injen ti catback exhaust. Overall i love the sound it makes but i get a little rasp at higher rpm's. It doesn't bother me though. So basically GTM FTMFW!!

I have Kinetix HFC. over 1k miles on them so far, and they sound great, and the quality, based on looking over them carefully, is superb. Definite gains in power, and car feels "free-er". I recommend them!

nice the video, wasnt that bad and the sound was pretty good. Are the GTM's legal like the berks hfc or the kinetix hfc? cause here in nj they are a real pain in the *** lol

no the gtm resonated test pipes are not legal. To be legal they have to have some kind of catalyzing core (to help with the emissions). gtm test pipes contain a glass-packed resonator which is used only for reducing sound, not for emissions purposes.

Berk might be legal, not really sure, but they do use a metallic core (i believe 300 cell count) which should be legal enough for an inspector to not complain. Here in Houston all the inspector does is a quick look (from the engine bay) using a flash light, never gave me any problems with my berks.

But the berks are coming off! Today I looked under my car and confirmed that my driver side hfc is cracked right at the support bracket. At the same time, I uninstalled my nismo y-pipe. Nothing was wrong with it, but I think it just doesn't have enough flex in the flex joints (which may have caused my hfc to crack). I put the oem y-pipe back on and have better piece of mind now.

I have the AAM TP and there is this annoying vibration sound, I don't know if it's because something loose or too tight. Does anyone have this problem?

I have the AAM tp and dual exhaust (as stated above) and it seemed to make the exhaust low enough to "just" touch the rear under brace..... I just had to adjust a few things and it was fine

Berks HFC for about 6k miles, used... so about 9k in total. No problems good gains. Can't complain, sound is decent too... no rasp whatsoever.

bump

i'm still in the market for hfc/test pipes. I called berk technology and spoke to Brian. He said that he can't replace my cats since they are over a year old. He did offer me 50% off his website listed price for a new pair of hfc's. Good service but I think I'm gonna pass on the hfc's. Thinking GTM or FI resontated test pipes..

I think FI makes resonated HFC that look pretty nice. The Motordyne ART pipes r supposed to be out in a month or so... probably worth waiting for for the torque increase.

haha i have been thinking lately that i should just weld up the little crack. It's the cheapest and most simple alternative to buying a brand new pair of hfc's. And they are not busted at all, just a hairline crack around the support tab that can be welded up in seconds.

i will let you know though if i change my mind and decide to take them off.
