but honestly i am thinking about removing my test pipes the noise is starting to get to me.. and i also have that hesitation problem a lot of people get with test pipes which really annoys the crap outta me when i floor the gas pedal.. i know i need a tune but i am not gonna dish out +$600 for a tune to gain like 10whp..

if i were you, i would stay with the stock cats.. hfc's and test pipes will make it sound more hardcore.. but that's not necessarily a good thing
So you weren't using the Nismo Y pipe with your HFC's?

I have the Nismo S-Tune catback and want to add HFC's but my only real questions were 1) is the sound noticeably louder than just the Nismo catback and 2) Will i pass smog? They are **** here in CA about smog. .

Thanks

^^^ what do you mean by "cold issue"?

Also, by hesitation, i do experience it a little, but i hear it's because of the added torque with the HFC.

Basically when i step on it, there will be what feels like a hesitation (or slight loss of power), then all of a sudden, i would get tremendous amount of power. I heard this is because of sudden increased torque which makes it feel like hesitation

I went ahead and bought Berk HFCs and Stillen Y Pipe. Will pair these with Nismo exhaust. It's kind suck that I have to buy new oxygen sensors since the stock sensors are seized in the stock cats.

Lemme know if you can pass the OBD emissions test(in IL) with the Berk HFC when you have to take it.

As long as you don't have CEL, then you should be fine with emission test. But why worry about it since your Z is still years from emission test? In worst case, just install the oem cats back.

I believe the law in IL is 4 years after the manufacture date you must have it tested and then every 2 years....I believe I have to be tested next year :/

I have an 08 nismo with turbo xs TP, injen CAI and HKS true dual exhaust. Definitively felt the difference after installing the TP. I have about 2 thousands miles on them. However, I don't know why there is like a whistling sound on that I hear by the trunk. It's not all the time. I checked it out and I don't know if my inside bumper is touching my exhaust. It is kind of loose and makes almost the same sound when I touch it against the exhaust. anybody know? Also, I am tuning it at the end of the month but I haven't really found any good info on which is a better tune. OSIRIS, UPREV OR COBB. I was thinking about COBB tuning but I just want to get some opinions before I make my final decision. Ill take any criticism. Thanks

Osiris is Uprev. Cobb has discontinued I believe.

Get a dyno to see how your AFR is. Keep us updated as well.

Did not know cobb was getting discontinued for the 350z. I guess am going to have to go with UPREV tune. does anybody know why? I have dynoed my car before but that's when I had just intake and exhaust. Ill post it later on today. Also, I am taking it to HP Logic to get it tuned in MD I believe. I heard they have the fastest GTR. My bro is taking his evo to get tuned also. Am sure they will do a pretty good job with mine. Thanks for the info by the way. Ill keep you guys up to date with the results after the tune

Has anyone tried the ART test pipes on their HR yet? Are the dyno gains similar to the gains made on DE motors?

oh, and anyone getting the CEL with the ART pipes?

From what I read, you will get CEL with HFCs or test pipes eventually even with non-foulers on HR.
