Hey i'm a noob on this forum so please don't flame.

I have a 08 Z, bone stock and found a used nismo y-pipe for sale.

2 questions...

1. how does the nismo y-pipe compare to the stock hr pipe performance and soundwise?

2. I have read about problems with the y-pipe cracking test pipes and cats. is this only on aftermarket cats and tp or also including the stock cats? Asking because if everything is good i would probably just stay with the nismo y-pipe for a while then in the future finish the cat-back, but am definitely staying with the stock cats permanently.

Just stick with the hr y pipe. No point in buying an aftermarket y pipe if your going to keep the stock muffler/midpipe/cats.

well i want to do it more for the sound. i'm happy with the power it makes stock.

main question is will i have problems with the stock cats and the nismo y-pipe?

i really don't see the Y-pipe changing the sound much. I'd be looking into buying a nice cat-back exhaust.

ive been doing some research about the y-pipe making some decent power on the dyno. but the only ones i have found were on de motors. is the nismo not much different from the hr y-pipe?

Dude that with just a Nismo Y pipe on and nothing else. Meaning no mid pipe or muffler lol just only running the Y pipe

Save your money bro and get a whole set up. Also most guys who have the Nismo exhaust get rid of the Nismo Y pipe because they crack HFC's. I also have a Nismo exhaust but i have a JIC Y pipe. Oh btw that car in the video does sound pretty bad *** lol.
