I have the Injen CAI (blue tubing) and Z-Xtreme Grouding Kit (blue wires).

My intentions were to utilize these for engine dress up more than performance enhancing purposes.

Question...

Due to the hazards of installing a full CAI...If I were to install the Injen CAI as a short ram and use a heat shield will that alleviate the pitfalls associated with CAI's and will I lose any power???

Advice please..............

the heat sheild that comes with the kit is pretty nice, although you will probably have negative effects, b/c you are still sucking up the hot engine heat.

Btw, you definitely won't have negative effects by installing the Injen CAI as a short ram setup. If you read the instructions that come with it, you will see that there are directions to install it as a short ram or not. If anything, you won't make any more gains, performance wise, then the stock air box. BUt, then again, you are getting it for looks and sound so this won't make a difference to you anyway.
