Default Extreme Drone and vIBRATIONS

Sorry for making another exhaust thread, but i recently installed the agency exhaust with a random y pipe and now the interior of the car drones like crazy, vibrations all over the car, and i can hear metal clinking beneath the car. What can I do to fix this? Also, the exhaust is really really loud. Would getting a mid pipe with a resonator fix the loud problem? Or should i get a stock y pipe? This is really unbearable and I dread getting in the car even though it does sound nice at times. Thanks.

lol. A resonator would help quiet things down but probably not enough if your exhaust is vibrating everything.

Do you think the exhaust is vibrating everything because its LOUD, or because its touching metal??

That's a single for you, they drone like crazy.

Just checked the AP site and they don't list a silencer.

^^ Before i bought the single, i did a lot of research and no one mentioned it droning. they said its just loud and sounds good. I don't mind the drone as much as the vibrating in the trunk and metal clinking. Do you think it might be the y pipe? Its a random *** y pipe, so maybe that might be it.

May be, it's probably a bad fitting between the two.

I wish someone would install a silencer in Waizzz. And Waizzz, don't get excited I am talking about in your mouth.

^^ im running stock cats with random y pipe. It might be the y pipe, thinking of getting a stock one. Did you have to do anything to the jic silencer? Or just drill a hole and put it on?

Try the motordyne resonated y pipe. Then if it's quiet down too much you can change it out to a straight pipe.

loud and sounds good are both non specific and very generic...and in the ear of the beholder

get under the car and start looking for interference issues, etc

Thats what I was thinking of getting. That and also their 3 inch resonated midpipe. Wondering if the resonator from the y pipe and midpipe might be quieting too much. Right now, my y pipe is a 2.5 or 2.25 inch, would swapping the current 3 inch midpipe for the stock midpipe with resonator kill some of the sound? I would assume it won't be as free flowing. Would it pair up to the 3inch piping of the muffler?

^^ just talked to motordyne, and they said their resonated xyz and 3 inch resonated mid wouldnt do much to kill the sound. I think I am going to try the stock hr midpipe instead of the agency 3 inch midpipe. Any suggestions/feedback? I don't have access to a lift, so I need to pay a few bucks to get the swap done. I want to make sure the stock midpipe will kill the sound, or else I would just be losing money/time. Please let me know, thanks.

Are you sure the exhaust isnt fouling one of the chassis braces where (on a stock exhaust) the Y pipe meets the midpipe? A few people in the Uk have had that problem with a popular exhaust.

^^ Yea, thats what I think it is. I can tell it touches from looking under. Going to get that checked out soon and will install the stock midpipe instead of the agency 3 inch one.

Hey guys, I decided to order a resonator and just weld it with the agency power midpipe. one question though, the guy I am getting it from and who is doing the install said he has a 22inch one and a 26 inch one. Longer=quieter, shorter=louder. So which one should I go with? Any suggestions? Not familiar with resonator sizes/sounds so I don't know how much of a difference there would be between the two, or if I should go with any other size. I searched on ebay and there are ones that are 16inch, 18inch, whatever. Dont know which one to get. Thanks.

First thing is to check for is exhaust leaks. Second is clearance from all chassis. The second gets even more important around the driveshaft, so makes certain the ypipe to midpipe connection is not within approx 1.5-2". This goes dito after your muffler shop welds in the resonator. They will be alternating the whole position of the exhaust system, very important they get it near exact. The bigger piping leaves little clearance with singles.

Mine is a Ti-c and I had to work at positioning the ypipe and exhaust to get a favorable amount of clearance at driveshaft.

The drone must be horrible with the Agency, that is the least muffled single out there, or damn close. If it is droning out of control and loud as you describe with OEM cats, WOW! I would get the biggest resonator that will fit then. On my Greddy it drones pretty bad without silencer, but with silencer absolutley none, and I have testpipes.

Good luck

^^ Yea thanks bro. I was thinking of a silencer option also. I'm sure the ti-c silencer doesnt fit the agency power huh? I only heard of the JI-C single silencer fitting. Amazing how just a silencer can kill the drone.
