+1! My cousin has headers/test pipes with HKS and that thing is soooo freakin loud!

 

are you reffering to the single? beacuse i cant see the v1 shockwave dual be much louder than the ap. i have the ap with stock cats and ypipe and its louder than my buddies v2 shockwave tdx with stock cats.

 

When tanabe did the testing on their concept G on HR.. it was hella loud.

Just traded my Borla dual for a 3" JIC single...LOVE the single, it's waaaayyyyyyy louder! So I say single

just run dumps. or purchase some long tube headers. or trade for my single exhaust.

 

My Stillen headers/ART pipes/Ichiba Y/Agency Power exhaust makes my head hurt its so loud. If I go for a spirited drive for over an hour my ears hurt kinda.
Terrasmak I know we got an argument here, but I really think the AP is louder than anything if its paired with TP's. Look at it's design, it's straight non resonated pipe into the biggest round straight through muffler available for the Z.
We need to do a db test!!!

But I would recommend MD's XYZ because it's the best one out there so I hear. I'm probably going to swap one in eventually.

 

JIC Spartan unresonated, JIC Y Pipe, and long tube headers. your brain will hurt.

The shockwave like Dave posted has a small resonater on the way to a completely open Megaphone. When i ran test pipes, people 2 cars ahead of me (on the track ) could hear me comming. My wife could hear me comming home from over 3 miles out.

With the Berk HFCs its a little more tame than test pipes, with stock cats i could still rattle the crossover bridge at California speedway.
