Default Nooob questions.

Alright guys, i've been searching this website all the time, for wheel information. Now, i've got my wheels and is about to focus on some engine work. I have a guy that is going to sell me a Kinetix Intake manifold but i don't know much about it. It's at a good price but i don't know(Actual) gains. I've searched and saw it gains up to 30 hp, or it actually makes you lose hp. I don't know, but the only FOR SURE thing i've read is it sounds great. Now, i really wanna get this, but then i read something about a plenum spacer from motordyne, and it gets good gains. IS the motordyne 5/16 the thing to get with the Kinetix Manifold? I'm sorry guys, i've been doing searching but just haven't found the answer i've been looking for. Sorry for the noobness, just trying to learn some more about this subject. Thanks guys.

you're not gaining 30whp, 30 crank hp, or 30 pixie dust hp with an intake manifold

what year is the car?

on an 06 your best bet is finding a used 03-05 middle collector and using a spacer (the size spacer has little net effect though we use the AAM ones which are 5/16 at it's thickest point

we don't sell motordyne stuff so I don't really pay attention to the specs sorry

yes, all of them will use your stock upper a plenum. A spacer by itself on a revup (2006, such as yours) does next to nothing. The gains are only realized when it's combined with the earlier collector

4 months gives you enough time to find and study the Plenum versus Plenum Spacer Shoot-Out. Very informative.

I wasn't flaming u, I was gonna write something then I decided not to.....

IMO the kinetix is a waste of time. NA or FI... It looks cool different etc. But really not worth the $$$. I would do Wat Z1 said, and go with the MD its a common thing. If you ever go FI it would still be utilized. Theres also other companies that make spacers check around..

5/16 is the common one n the best fit to retain your strut bar...

Good luck.. I'm no authority, but I kno Wat I have installed on my 03 and some things work some don't... Most importantly before any mod ask Wat you will be using this car for. Are you gonna get the most usage out of these mods but more important enjoy your Z....

Ray

The first link is an mrev I don't remember too much about them. But Wat Z1 was saying is an OEM middle collector from an 03-05 which would be significantly cheaper. Then u add the md or aam spacer n ur good...

I used to use it but no longer do, and since we don't sell their stuff, I can't give you the specs. Check their website

like I said, used classifieds

the runner lengths are different - there are several threads about it

I think the difference between an MREV andusing an OEM lower is about $400 lolz seriously I think u get the same results outta using an 03-05 mid collector w/a spacer that u would if u got an MREV.. IDK
