Default Test pipe + Y pipe + rsr exhuast = rattle need help

Hi,

I'm having a terrible rattle on my right exhaust. It seems to be hitting the vapor covers? Does anyone know of a fix? or something I can wedge in between the exhaust and vapor covers that would tolerate enough heat. The rattling noise is so annoying, sounds like my bumpers going to fall off soon.

Thanks
jake

i never had a rattle with any exhaust setup i went with..u realize u are asking over the internet to people who cant see or hear ur car on what to do....get under the car and figure it out..if its a heat shield bend it or take it off....get under while someone revs and pin point where the problem is and fix it..

You need to get under there and tighten all the bolts from the TP's back. You might even need new gaskets. I had a terrible rattle with my setup and had to test all the bolts and nuts. Problem fixed.

I recommend that you align the exhaust properly so it does not rattle. A thermal blanket or wrap is a ghetto fix.

how can one misalign exhaust components? i mean once everything is torqued down, the bolts and nuts should align it straight regardless no?

Not if it's crappy knockoffs or second hand stuff that's damaged. Also, if it's cheap and no real R&D was put into the product, you're going to have alignment issues with the parts mating up properly.

Pix of where you think its hitting? I had a pretty loud rattle on my 08 where my Greddy EvoII was hitting the diff and one of the support bars back there. I bolted "spacers" between the last exhaust hanger and the car. No mas rattle
