I think a $1300+ exhaust should be a little less prone to rusting than that in 8 years. I see 80s and 90s model cars all the time with less rust on aluminized steel piping than what that guy has on his "304 stainless" exhaust.

My tip to anyone who buys aftermarket exhaust:
Use the magnet test upon accepting delivery. If a magnet sticks to the exhaust, it is not 304 stainless. Basically, if a magnet sticks to it or any part of it, whatever the magnet sticks to can and likely will rust. If you paid for 304 stainless and the magnet sticks, send it back.
I wish I would have known this before. I just tried this test and the magnet I used sticked to most of the exhaust.

Thanks, that is a good idea. It just bothers me that I need to do this. I spent a lot of money to have those shiny mufflers exposed. It kind of defeats the purpose to paint them. Unfortunately, my only choice will be to do that or buy a new cat back system.

This is obvious by the way they are handling my claim.

It's funny you mention this. If you do a search on google about blown motors from Stillen superchargers or rust through on stillen exhaust kits or 370Z intake issues, you will see just how poorly Stillen treats their overpaying customers. Unfortunately I fall into this catagory.

It is no suprise there are many people upset with Stillen. I have been modding my cars for over 18 years, dating back to my 91 Stealth TT. Stillen is by far the worst company I have seen.
