Default Ideas on Custom single exhaust

After searching, i couldn't find the answers i'm looking for.
Since i know a fab guy who does amazing job customizing cages and exhausts, i might go with custom single exhaust. He custom made a harness bar for me and IMO it's definately better than other bars out there.
So the reason being for wanting a single exhaust is because of weight reduction, better flow and loud azz sound. (When to couple of Autox events and they got some ear bust exhausts).
I'm looking for 4.5 ~ 5 inch exhaust tip, and straight pipe after stock y-pipe, before exhaust tip.
Would megaphone type exhaust tip look good with bumper tuck? (im def tucking the bumper with single exhaust)
Would i need to customize the stock y-pipe also? (i got hr y-pipe. my car is 05)
What should the piping size be? what material?
How much would i expect to pay with or without labor?

thankz guyz

PS. is the y-pipe the one that has the catalytic, or is it be the right after headers? id like to leave the cat alone.

thankz guyz

Uhh...why don't you ask the custom fab guy those questions. You can run a 6" exhaust straight from the exhaust manifolds back and Y-it after the rear pumpkin with a 10" tip. Hella loud.

like i stated, i prefer keeping the cat, and 4.5~5 inch for exhaust tip. Minimizing the cost.
I know i'll ask him one day but i'd like to hear opinions from 350z guys.

That's not loud at all. That is barely over the max street decibels in most states for a motor vehicle.

CA is 92DBA...there are a **** load of exhaust ticket posts in the CA forums.

I have seem custom exhaust before. Some turn out great. Some look like shiit. Only drawback of a custom exhaust is that it is unproven.

I wonder how some cars have crazy loud exhausts..mostly the ones have open wheels or old school cars with lots of mods.

I have a hks canister with a 75 mm inlet, 3 inch piping, stillen ypipe, and turbo xs test pipes. It is very loud, especially on a cold start. I'm sure it could wake the dead. As far as daily driving goes, it's not too bad, unless you get on it, then it can be pretty raspy.

how much did that set up cost you? HKS canister, 3" piping and/or with stillen y-pipe?
If i have to spend more than $300 on custom set up, i rather save little more and go with used agency power.
