Default Nismo exhaust noise + highway driving

Is the Nismo exhaust annoyingly loud when cruising on the interstate (at 70-90mph) / highway or just poking around in town? I'm looking for an exhaust that's loud when I step on it, but doesn't draw a lot of unnecessary attention under normal driving.

^^ ehat he said. Mine is perfect, quiet when I need it but loud enough if you get on it. At cruising it sounds like stock IMO.

here is my experience with the nismo.

with stock cats, super quiet. no drone, no nothing.

with resonated test pipes, no drone, no nothing

with long tube headers (non resontaed cats) no drone, no nothing,

lol, honestly, this is not a loud exhaust. if you want to talk about drone, non resonted single exhaust.

motordyne xyz w/ resonator will take care of it and sound great and give a nice gain in power

imo best setup sound and good power is what i ran

berk test pipes, motordyne xyz w/resonator, nismo s tune mid and tail section...sounds sick and has no drone or anything too bad

note for anyone also is that the nismo y pipe is knows to cause cracking issues in the exhaust..i went thru a bunch of berk high flow cats running the nismo y pipe and cracked one mid pipe also...the motordyne xyz is a great upgrade and takes care of that issue the nismo y pipe causes with aftermarket test pipes and high flow cats

You have started several threads asking about things being too loud and complain about your tire noise......leave your car stock if your tires are too loud so will an aftermarket exhaust or a supercharger.

What about the Nismo y-pipe causes aftermarket TPs and HFCs to crack? And how common is the problem? I've seen a few posts here and there about it, but I need to replace my cats and I'm trying to weight my options.

it is an extremely common thing...i think it is due to the limited flex and when i compared it to the stock and motordyne xyz it is a tiny bit shorter which i think causes stress...imo if u change from stock cats and u are running the nismo y pipe seriously consider getting a different y pipe..even a cheap jic or something..i will say the motordyne xyz is the best y pipe u can buy though imo..

Default Perfect for me

I have one on my Roadster - perfect exhaust for me. Loud when I want it - quiet when I need it. You will not regret it - enjoy.

It's pretty tame when driving normal. Love the way it sounds around 4-6k rev especially when entering the freeway on 3rd gear (sounds so exotic to my ears). Just like what everyone said here, it's definitely loud enough when you want it. Great exhaust imo.

Driving in town taking off in first gear I think it's loud & i'm not even punching it. I have two nismo exhaust systems simply becuz Nissan didn't put the stock one back in the right box. I would like to go back to stock if you ask me.
