Installed RT Cats...Nice
I put my RT Cats from Performance Nissan (Nice price and nice service) in this afternoon. Everything else is stock right now.
Exhaust is somewhat louder then it was, it adds more of the mids and some highs to the exhaust note, but doesn't get raspy
Fitment is good.
I can definitely feel the engine rev easier in the mid to high RPMs. The car feels more responsive.
Butt dyno says power gains mid to high, 6-10 RWHP I would have no problem believing. It really feels good.
Overall I am very happy with the mod, and would recommend it.

I go the RT hi-flow cats at Performance too. My last mod before I had the ECU flashed at TechnoSquare the day before yesterday. Tadashi at TS says all the cars with RT cats run lean. You might want to watch out for that.
A good dyno chart should give you an air/fuel ratio.

Do you get a vibration near the middle console?

From: So-Cal - Ready to go?
Shims shims shims shims shimmy shim shims
We include 4 sets of these with every set of cats we ship out.
Where do they go? From now on I am including instructions for them
Any way,
Where to put them?
between the rear cross-brace.
If you look under your car just infront of the rear wheels with your head looking back towards your muffler you will see the cross brace. There are 4 bolts in the middle of the cross brace, you will see the exhaust piping going between the bolts on the cross-brace.
Simply loosen the bolts until the brace lowers a few mm and inser the shims around the bolts. then tighten. This will move then cross brace down slightly so the exhaust piping will clear the brace during engine tq.
Below are two photos showing where the shims are to be installed. The silver pole is pointing to where the shims are to be installed. If you do not have the shims you can use washers. Washers are harder to install because you need to take the brace off to the point where you can get the washers around the screw. The shims slide onto the sides.
Please do not hesitate to ask me any other questions regarding the shims or anything else you may have interest in.

My RT's are installed. I love them and my guages read the same. They really make the Borla headers and true dual come alive. Highly reccomend RT and Performance Nissan both. Better clearance than I expected, better sound, and no smell like I have smelled before with no cats. CARB certified too. My stock cat was bad on the driver side from my drive way bottoming out anyway, now I don't scrape anymore and no, I am not lean. Great mod, very torquey, I agree 6-10 HP gain but it just pulls stronger is the best way to describe them.

Are the RT cats really CARB certified (do you get a sticker or how does it work)? I ask because I've got a buddy in socal that's pretty strict about doing only CARB certified power mods.
Thanks.

They are CARB certified, when you purchase them you get a card that has all the info on it. They suggest keeping it in the vehicle.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but since we're on the topic of CARB certified parts: does anybody know if the AEM intake is CARB certified? (And if so, how come the NISMO intake isn't?)
Thanks.
Michael.

I wish I could spare the extra cash! i live in an area where police enforce heavily on modified vehicles. I was thinking the nismo exhaust would look stealthy enough to not draw attention, but would the RT cats blow my cover sound wise?
