thanks fellas. hope it helps some of you
i heard a few hks in person. stock cats, it's pretty quiet. with test pipes, it really opens it up. kinda excited but not excited about how heavy this exhaust is.
yeah i sold it to him. it was a good exhaust. i never polished at all. just a watered down rag and it would always come out looking new.
Consider yourself 1000 bucks richer, looks amazing. I really do love my HKS, the youtube videos made me actually hate the HKS at first.
I can't wait to get everything on my car looking as good as new, including a thorough cleaning of my HKS. Anything special to look out for when cleaning the tips to not mess up the burn?
And that G35 does sound like sex, I could only imagine how it sounded in real life.

I'm not done yet..but have about 3 hours into it. Still need to do a bit in the crevices and the rest of the piping and such..ran out of materials. I'm confident now since this was the worst of the two pipes
The following steps were used. I had to bring in the buffer for this one.
-Clean off pipes with glass cleaner
-sand with 600grit
-sand with 800grit
-sand with 1000grit
-sand with 1200grit
-use steel wool
-use high speed buffer with metal polish on an orange cutting pad set to 6
-repeat until shine desired

Are you looking at buying test pipes? I would really like to hear the test pipes with the HKS in person to make my decision on buying them.

can someone tell this guy the hks is lighter than stock. Im pretty damn sure the hks saves a lot of weight vs stock unless i remembered wrong.
superblack **** you bro, FUKK you!

the welds look terrible on that exhaust it amazed me how people spent over a grand for such a sloppy job.. and to top it off it sounded like a cessna airplane.. oh the good ol' days lol
I don't think sanding the AP would be a good idea. I think you risk sanding right through the TI coating and completely ruining it.

mothers aluminum and SS polish and a red mothers WHeel polish cone stuck do a high speed plug in drill makes this job a snap.
I do mine every few months to KEEP this from happening.

nope, that won't do anything to this exhaust, trust me. i've been an avid detailer for a few years off and on and mother wheel polish stuck ot a drill is not enough. you will need to use some type of grit paper and a high speed buffer. It goes probably 100 times faster than a drill.
nah i hear ya.. i just never let mine get like that... mothers ball n drill has kept it sparky clean for 2 years now.
Yeah youre rebuilding a dinosaur there... id do it too if it were free.
