i didn't know that nismo s-tune muffler and mid-pipe would fit on stock Y pipe "bolt on". Is this really true?

The s-tune is a cat back exhaust. Replaces everything from the catalytic converters back.

Yes the muffler and midpipe will bolt to the factory y pipe. Most of the power you gain is actually from changing the Y pipe to a quality one like the motordyne XYZpipe.

yes it will work...one thing i am very persistent on is what a peice of **** the nismo y pipe is...it caused cracking issues through my exhaust when i ran it..i cracked 2 sets of test pipes and 1 mid pipe...If the nismo y pipe is used with stock cats it is ok but if used with high flows or test pipes this problem is bound to happen...The nismo y pipe is a hair shorter which in return i beleive causes stress on other parts of the exhaust...If you are running high flows or test pipes i recommend leaving the stock y pipe until you can get a different y pipe...motordyne xyz is a great choice!! i ran one with the resonator attachment to cut out any rasp i had which it did flawlessly and gave a nice power gain

 

What's the inside diameter of the nismo exhaust?

 

It's ~3".
