noob questions: i'm not sure if i missed anything
-which one is easier to install? and which one has a better fitment? like any cutting or drilling at all? or they're the same?
-should i be worry at all if the water might get in since it's CAI?
-for the Gen 3, the reason why they call Gen 3 cuz it's the latest CAI from Stillen? do they still make Gen 2 or 1?

I'll post up more pics over the weekend. The lighting in my garage was terrible.
The filters have orange 'Outerwears' pre-filters. They're water resistant, and seeing as I live in Seattle, I figured I should be better off with them on there.
Doesn't even really need a DIY. There's a whole thread on the Scotchprint material and it has most the info needed. But I'll do a write-up similar to the one I did on doing a microfiber suede headliner (in post #60 of this thread).

I just installed the injen intake on my car yesterday. Had a difficult time mounting the passenger side filter. Ended up having to move the horns to a different position then what they had in the instructions. Pretty pleased with the results though, before it felt like it ran out of breath above 5500 and now it pulls the whole time. Also the only mod I have on the car right now.

Since I'm in the NW, I see rainfall ~300 days a year, so the added protection against moisture is a huge must. Plus they look good (even though they're tucked inside the bumper).

Just purchased a set of the Black injens. Will have pics up next week when I get them on. I decided to not go with the hydro shields. Mainly due to the fact it rarely rains in texas and the Z is not a daily driver. So it never sees rain.
FWIW, im tune and reflashed with Osiris by uprev, berk tp, motordyne xyz, nismo exhaust. All of this netted me at 294hp/254tq. With the Intakes, ill have my 93 oct remapped to hopefully see some decent gains.
Thanks to the OP for creating this thread. This helped me make up my decision with which intake to go with.
Cheers!

Just my .02. I had stock boxes with k&n filters and hps silicone post maf hoses and made 289whp with other mods and 93 tune. I put my stillens on and went to the dyno. I had lost power everywhere. Even after a 2hr retune I only gained 2hp up top but lost 10hp/14tq in the mid-range. So needless to say the stillens are gone never to return again. Seems like they make power on stock cars with the oem tune but on a modded car they are restrictive (I was surprised how small they were). I'm gonna keep my stock boxes in for a while and maybe get some custom 3in intakes made and see if I make power with them. But overall I would say save you're money and don't get intakes.
