I've never used the TXS-UR combo before, no, sorry - he may want to look into a slightly longer/shorter hanger for his midpipe (the rubber portion). Most auto part stores carry them

we typically have had customers fit them with NISMO, HKS, Borla, Fujitsubo and Tanabe exhausts

Resurrecting this old thread from the dead because I'm torn between getting the Kinetix HFCs and the Z1 HFCs. Has anyone got the Z1 HFCs? I have ordered a lot of things from them but I would love to see someone who has done a review on them and hear about people who had them for a long time. I'm a little afraid to go the test pipe route because of the loud obnoxious noise and the smell, and the CEL. I won't worry about emissions because i'll just throw on the stock cats. But the sound and CEL are my biggest concerns with test pipes.

So how was the install? Did you just get them, take the old ones off, put on the new ones and started driving?

Decided going with the Z1 HFCS and not even think about the headaches with test pipes. I hope your reading this Z1, you guys need to sponsor me or something, every performance part I bought so far is from them lol. Z1 evrrrythang! After the HFC install did you guys get a tune afterwards? Or did you wait after you did other mods like the rest of the exhaust, intake etc? I'm almost done with all my mods with only a cat back exhaust left and the rest will be transmission, suspension and brake mods.

Ya go ahead and install all your "breather" mods first, then go get a tune. But don't wait very long after getting everything installed. You can go for several months without a tune, it's just better to go as soon as everything is installed. And I if you're within decent driving distance of Z1, have Jon tune it up for you. He does an amazing job of extracting every last bit power available from your mods.

I live nowhere near Z1. I might as well drive my Z there on the way to moving to Florida.

Got the spacer last spring. I'm sold, placed an order a few minutes ago.

I'm currently running Kinetix HFC's and I'm happy with them. Now I'm just debating whether or not I want to spend $675 on a stupid tune...

^ Get a tune once you're settled with your mods for a while (to avoid the cost of a retune). Usually places will discount you to $500~$600 for a tune and a license. Well worth it, both for smoothing out your AFR and really extracting gains.

Reviving this thread, just had an HKS exhaust installed and its quite quiet between 1-3K rpms. Looking to do Berk HFC's and reading the forums for about an hour or so on and off the past few days. Would the HFC's liven up the sound between 1-3K rpms? Or just effect 3K+?

Does the HKS still sound good at low RPM? How is it above 3k?

My cats went down a few weeks ago and I "fixed" the stock ones for now. I'll be getting hfc's and exhaust later this year so I'm also curious to know what hfc/exhaust combos you guys run and recommend, I imagine each combo gives a slightly different sound.

I have Nismo S-Tune with Berk Technology HFC's and I get compliments on how well it sounds and not being obnoxious loud. And yes sound will depend on the exhaust.
